I´m planning to have some sandbags as extra protection on a guntruck that I´m currently working on. My question is, modern sandbags used by US troops in Iraq, what do they look like and what are they made of?

Here is what I ve used in my military career. You can still find some of the burlap ones too, but these are used mostly.

Thanks.
Sorry that it took so long to reply but my computer crashed just when I had sent the question, so I never got a confirmation that the post had entered the forum.

Hi
you could make your sandbags out
of milliput and then wrap a bandage
that will giv the milliput texture and
make it look like a sandbag.

My opinion differs with Cyril. Don't try to put patterns on your sandbags. In 1/35, even burlap texture would be barely discernable.
Also, make sure your sandbags don't look like pillows. Troops filled them about halfway because if they were stuffed too much, they'd burst easier.
