This is looking good!!! I don't think I will need any more kits this year after getting a couple of these.

Wow. Very nice looking preview of what looks to be a great kit. Looks like it will be well worth the wait. I noticed they "slide molded" the MGs in two different directions, hollowing the muzzles and recievers. Nice touch.

Thanks for the quick peek.

Shaun

Edit. Cool. Tow Bar...

I was impressed to see the bore evacuator was also slide molded. It could be the most accurate gun I have seen to date. I noticed the bustle rack seemed pretty delicate. I can't wait to get my hands on this one.

Vinnie, I saw the decal sheets and just gotta know... which vehicle from 1-68 AR does the instruction sheet depict? I was with A/1-68 AR until we hopped battalions and became C/1-8 IN.

And I personally prefer the plastic version of it. It has correct details on the bottom and also more details on ends of thermal sleeve. Metal version is easier to use, but lacks these details. But at least we have a choice

Looks like I'm just going to have to buy this one when I get home then. I shot my first gunnery on A21 before we got the SEPs, and consequently had my beret battle-carried. That's just too crazy. By that time the gun tube just said the company name though. Thanks for the info.

Anthony, the 1-68AR "Silver Lions" 4th Infantry Division, Iraq 2003 is indeed A21 'Ancient One'. :-) :-) :-)

Looks mighty fine in Vinnie's photos - can't wait to see one up-close-and-personal on the workbench.

It is an eagerly awaited model kit.

Got a question, on the decal sheet, it has the decal of some German words. These words are painted on the TC hatch of a particular Abrams. I thought some one here posted a picture, pictures, or the web sight where the pictures are of that particular track.

Help me locate the track please. I thought it was a few pictures.

Never been a big fan of the Abrams. I kind of figured this like the Sherman only needed a couple to makea fair representation of the tank in the big overall US collection I am building. This kit changed my mind a bit. I already had my two representations an M1 and an M1a1 with plow. I guess there will now be 3 :-) :-)

Pete
The Tank you are refering to is pictured in Model Military International July Issue. It has "Gott mit uns" (God with us) painted on the TCs hatch. I think the pics are taken in Germany, but the article does not say which unit it belongs to.

Those pics were taken by Ralph Zwilling, who was also tech consultant to DML project. This tank is from 1-4CAV. There are markings for six tanks from this unit in the kit.

Looks impressive, I'm glad I held off getting any other M1 kits. I couldn't
tell from the pictures but did they do anything for the front fender springs.
This is usually forgotten by most companies.

Looks like they come in the same box as the metal barrel.

Yes, fender spring are provided as pre-bent wires with small metal loops to attach them and also tiny PE brackets. You also get slide molded track end connectors to put on spring

This one really looks like the Abrams of all Abrams. I am thoroughly impressed like the rest of you. And while I know this has been asked a million times before (and Im beating a dead horse here), but does anyone have an accurate release date? IM definitely interested in building this one. Makes me Trumpeter M1A1 with mine plow look like a Tiger II LOL

Well, you can say that it has been released already. Small batch of kits was available at IPMS Nats yesterday.

First regular shipment should arrive to the US distributor before the end of the month.
