Im starting a dio with a Tiger 1 heavy tank on a wooden bridge that has fell through on one end making it non passible. Looking for pics of bridges like these and also info on giving wood an aged look.
Thanks PFC

I use a wash on wood to make it look old along with dry brushing. I use a ready made wash out of the stuff that has collected at the bottom of my brush cleaner bottle. You know that grey sutt looking crap. Just take your old brush dip it in and their is your wash. I also keep some wood outside and let it age naturally and just use it when needed. It helps to put it on the ground and stomp on it with your foot using a slight turning action to speed up the process. Cheers

When I need wood for a diorama or an armor model I usually seal balsa with some spray sealant (lacquer) and then hit it with steel wool. After that step, you can pretty much lay a dark wash on it and dry brush it like plastic. If you don’t seal it first, it will soak up the wash and end up almost black. That has been my experience, anyway.

Slodder,
You are what I love about this site. The ultimate web surfer and modeler. I had no interest in the pictures until I saw them. Anyone who every built any armor or any diorama for that matter should see those pics. Thanks…

Too cool,Oink, Oink.
You might also check out the model railroading sections of web land. They have tons of stuff on the art of bridge building, some of it gets downright near an engineering degree.
I have to go back to smearing glue and blobbing paint....
