Hi guys,
Below are the figures that i will be using in a small dio for the Normandy Campaign.I first must say that these are my first figures that i have painted since i was 15(i'm now 30) so i still have a lot to learn!Figures still need their weapons, ammo bags added and the webbed helmets painted.
Figures are from Tamiya's British infantry, heads are from Warriors.
Any suggestions or comments welcome!
Cheers,Shay

Look good so far Shay, although weaponless, they look like they are auditioning for the great "air-guitar" contest.

Your figures are very well painted, maybe the 15 years break was a good thing, lol. I like your rendition of the straps with the buckles, very neat.

He, I'm also planning to build a set of british soldiers (Dragon) and maybe to replace their heads. So can you tell me the number of the Warrior set you used and if they came with the foliage helmet?

Thanks in advance.

G'day Shay
Figures look fantastic mate, what paints you using?
One nitpick and it's not a biggy as like you said, first figures since your 15!
But the faces look slightly mono-tone, dunno if it's the lighting that maybe hasn't done justice to your work, but if not next time give shading the cheeks, smile lines, under the neck, lips, nose, and brows a bit of shading and highlighting, check out Johns figure painting classes on Historicus Forma for a great SBS on this.
But that's just how i like to do things, and like i said it could just be the photo's, with or without what i suggested they are still brilliant.
Cheers

The helmets look to be an odd shape, even allowing the camouflage. Are you sure you used Mk II/III types and not paratrooper types?

Hi all. Thanks for all of your comments.Corey the figures will go here on this dio.Dave, there are slight highlights on the figgies,a bit difficult to see under the lighting, however i still will do some work on the faces keeping in mind your suggestions.I've got alot to learn with figure painting and John and Costas painting lessons will help me out in the future. Phil and Geoff,i was hoping that no one would pick up on the helmets!I noticed myself while researching the colour schemes during painting of the figures that the helmets might've been out of place!I assumed that they were the Mk III helmets with webbing and foliage as they seemed more rounder and not flat like the MkII.. and then found out that they were indeed paratrooper helmets .Next time before i decide to go round and change headsets and dive in the deep end i will thoroughly research helmets/uniforms for better accuracy .I'm not too sure what i will do now with the heads as the facial expressions fit perfectly in what i'm trying to portray in the dio.Hopefully once the ammo pouches are added and also weapons they will look a little more bulked up and the helmets shouldn't stand out too much!Oh well, something to keep in mind the next time round!Anyways thanks for the honesty in pointing out my error!
Cheers,Shay

Hi Shay, Great looking figures buddy! I have to agree with David though, I think a visit to Johns paint class will help out with the monotone faces. Aside from that they will look just dandy in your dio. I look forward to seeing it done! Cheers Kevin
