Hola Guys.
After reading the last thread about ooooh no not another SS German I thought I would give you German "fans" something new to moan about
Here we got a couple of late war ss div. Totenkopf guys.
Im having some fun with them and trying out some new techniques and styles if you will. I have experimented a bit with letting th eputty almost cure then work the surface a bit giving it some texture, this is evident in one of the figs below. Anyways, Im having a bear of a time with the seam lines, I know they are not perfect but Ive redone them about 3 times, and Im sure Ill get it one of these days!
Anyways, here are the pics. Scale is 1/35th scale and medium is Magic Sculpt.

Hola hombre,
I like your progress so far. Volume of the garment and the pattern of folds looks perfectly convincing to me!
I also like the jackboots you have used - they have that sturdy look so frequently lacking in commercial figures.
Good work!
Dani

Anders, the front/top of the trousers need more creases. It's something that always seems to be missed. You only have to wear any trousers for 10 minutes, and the top/front, at the top of the legs is a mass of creases and wrinkles!

Thanks Dani and Vinnie!
Dani,
I tried to get some more volume in the pants, it was kind of hard but it workd out in the end.
Vinnie,
Indeed the front of the trousers wrinkle up a lot, however, there is no use in sculpting this detail when it will be covered up with a long anorak.

Hehe
The way I look at it is why bother, will just make it harder to make the comming layers.
Although I did add the fly's to the pants, which is also unnessessary.
Stay tuned, update later today!

Here is some more progress. Worked a bit on the 'SS Anorak' or 'Kharkov parka' as its also commonly known on the #1 fig.

You´re too modest Anders. The seams look great. The bulk and folds ofthe trousers really look the part, when the parker is added. This is shaping up really nice now. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys
I have progressed quite a bit since the pics, Ive worked on the upper torso, adding the 'inside' layers including the collar and the ss patches, as well as befing up the underlayer so it looks like there is another layer under the anorak. I have also made the arms and started on the hands with gloves. So far its going pretty good, should be fairly smooth sailing from now on (I hope!)
Will post pictures later tonight or tomorrow.

Gday Anders
You have a real talent there! All you have sculpted so far looks realistic to me...
A couple of questions~ What is the curing time on the Magic sculpt? Is it a two part epoxy?
The boots have been previously sculpted by you?
Doy uo use photo reference for the accuracy, and then actual clothing for the folds, etc.?
I have been meaning to try my hand at some basic sculpting (ie. Some major alterations of existing figures) so any tips would be greatly appreciated...
Cheers
Brad
