Andrew, seriously, all joking aside, this is the best zimmerit effort I had seen for sometimes, please teach me how to do it, and how do you dry brushed them so well!!! Thanks!

Here is a pic that didn't make it into the original post. It shows how well the Moskit exhausts look:

Andrew

I have several sets of Moskit in the to do piles of kits...
I agree they look great in the package and look great on your model, how was the fit and installation?
Any stumbling blocks?.. it seems all too often really great looking aftermarket parts fit like #$!@#$.

Mike (who had asked this earlier but it was lost in the crash of 03..)

Thanks Dave and Mike.
Dave, I cannot divulge my secrets.
Mike, for the the Panther exhausts, I simply cut the kit exhausts of the blocks and glued the Moskit ones over top. I see why you are leery of problems but I had none.
Hope you enjoy, they really enhance the model.

Oberst, did you dilute the tamiya base colors with thinner or any other colors? What was the ratio? Thanks in advance - GR8Voyager

GR8Voyager,
I thinned the Tamiya paints with Tamiya thinner, my own ratio by sight.
I mixed a tiny amount of the base color with the Red-Brown tamiya paint to lighten it slightly.
The green was also ever so slightly lightened.

Hope that answeres it....

WOW, that is good. What more can I add or remark....wow.
What is the grass made of?
That really is a VERY good zimmerit finish!

Thanks Martin for resurrecting the Panther thread
The grass is made out of paintbrush bristles.
If and when I do make another base, I would use slightly thinner bristles though...
