Well, now that I have a quality digital camera of my own, I retook pictures of the Panther that I completed in September of 2002. To reiterate, I used; FULL Aber update, Aber sideskirts, Cavalier zimmerit, Jordi Rubio gunbarrel, Moskit exausts, Fruilmodellisimo tracks and a Tank Workshop partial interior. I used Tamiya acrylics to paint the base colours. The drybrushing was done with XtraColor emamels. Weathering was done with a light overspray of buff on the running gear and mud was simulated using squadron putty stiuppled with a tooth brush and painted varying earth tones. Paint chips were made using a method that I think is accurate which is having the Camo (green and brown) that was overpainted on the dark yellow show the sign of the dark yellow were scratches and other such abbrasions occured. This was done using XtraColor desert sand, slightly lighter than dark yellow, applied with a piece of stretched spruce in a vice pin. For additional weathering, pastel chalks and Burnt Umber (the versatile colour) were used.
The base that the kit is on was made from florists foam, paintbrush bristles, plaster and dirt.
Hope you like,
Andrew

Andrew,
Great work! I really like camo scheme. If you'd like to submit these images to me I can place them in the gallery and as an OnDisplay feature sometime soon.
Cheers,
Jim

Really impressive work. The deatil and painting are excellent and the little dio base all tie it together!
A figure or two would really help to bring it all alive now and show the scale!

Thanks for all of the comments. :-)
The camera I used was a Toshiba PDR-3310 with 3.2 megapixels.
As for figures, I cannot say that I am into doing them and I believe that they would take away from the realism.
Thanks again,
Andrew

See those Canadian winters are good for some things. Too awesome Oberst Andrew. The open hatches just beg for examination, now if I could come up with a drop light for taking interior shots with a optical cable extension lense we'd be in business. Great Zimmermit and finishing technique, damn, can't find anything wrong with it. What's next?

Thank you Jay, you are very flattering.
The interior is a partial one from the Tank Workshop and is not bad.
I would love to show you the inside but, as you said, it is impossible to photograph.
Thanks again,
Andrew

Da P. Man,
Is the exhaust easy to use and weather? On the other hand, the zimmerit you did is about the best I ever seen. How do you do that?

Dave, the exhausts, although tough to see here come a natural burnt umber colour and I just added some rust coloured pastel chalk to them. Thanks for the comment about the zimmerit, it is something that I cannot explain though, it is just talent
