Though many of you never read me before, you can tell from the number of my posts that I've seen the four corners of this site and most of the wonderful space in between quite intensely and quite frequently.
My work and family situation don't allow me to come here as often as I'd like, but for the first time this year (!) I came to sniff the forum tonight. I feel very sad about some of the things I just read here.
Web communities are about people. That means different opinions, different views. There will always be remarks, conflicts of opinion, a word or even paragraph that was not as carefully phrased as it should have been before the "submit" button was pushed.
Just remember one thing : this is by far the most complete and attractive web space you can dream of when you are keen on modeling. I'ts filled to the brim with practical information, useful tips, great forums, and fun people who understand your passion for modeling. No matter how novel your modeling ideas : there's someone else in the world who's interested in the same subject. And if he's out there, you can meet him here.
If you can appreciate all that, please enjoy all this and be part of this wonderful community. It is built and maintained by people who dedicate many, many hours of their own personal spare time to this site every week, out of fun for their hobby. They do a wonderful job. My heart goes out not only to Jim, but to all those who invest in fun projects like this one. This is about as good as it gets.
To all of you : thank you for letting us enjoy this site and these forums !
Your Uncle Jan

Jan!
You are absolutely right.
ALSO: Great to see you post again! Are you still bulding those wonderful trucks?
Wow, quite a few of us Armoram "veterans" on this thread so far. For those of you who do not know Jan, he does some fantastic scratch work on truck in large scale.
Uh, Jan ... I thought you lived in Belgium ...

Hey Jan haven't seen you in ages. I thought you were in Belgium too. Are you now in Iraq? If so, what the heck for? I got solicited to go there right about the time they were cutting folks heads off. Decided being a civilian contractor even with my military background was not conducive to my main goal in life..living it.

Jan,
Good to see you here as always.
I hope the house renovation goes well and perhaps someday soon we can see you back more often to impart your modeling wisdom and general good humor. If you can't tell we miss ya!
Take care,
Jim

Wow ! I just left a message unattended here for a few minutes and look what you all did to it ! Damn what a great bunch you all are. You make it very hard for me to resist coming back. Still, so much work to do at home AND on the job (At least Belgian and Dutch members get to see me on the evening news regularly, thanks Ronny). Return to Armorama is not scheduled for the next weeks, even months. But you know what the governor of CA used to say in the good days where he only played movies : I'll be back !
Jim, you really did a terrific job with this site. I'm building hard on a new website too, to be onlined in October. I'll let you all know when it gets online. Not in the modeling but in real world civil aviation. Watch this space for more news. I'll be in Canada and probably the US next week for the job, but not at your neck of the woods. Maybe a next time ? That burger we had at Robin Something a few years back was the best I ever tasted. Ever !
Looks like you are still having fun. Still miss a number of old buddies. I hope they are still around.
Cya all soon !
Uncle Jan
PS : I am not at all in Iraq and please see no politics in this choice. I merely wear this guise to protest to the fact that Jim removed the European flag from this site as a country choice. Till that day my friends, my tent is in Bagdad !
