Hi there
I've seen a kit in me LHS: A US truck with Willys Jeep from Revell. I havn't seen it on their homepage, so I cannot show you an image. But: Any of you know what period its from? WWII, Korea, Vietnam?
Thanks in advance
Simon

I have it, but I don't remember from which time it is. But I have to warn you for the kit itself (they can't have made more than one kit including one truck and one jeep) it is horrible. A very very crude kit... I would not receommend it for anyone except perhaps the very beginner.

Both kits are old Monogram kits from the 1950s. The truck is a 1950s era M34 (see another thread running about the M35 for more info). It saw usage into the early stages of Vietnam.
Someone also did a very nice build on it here some time ago.

Hi Simon, the truck would be correct for past Korea, early Vietnam period. It's really quite basic model but with some TLC can be a nice representation of an M34. The Jeep thrown in the package is best not to be spoken of.
Here is my rendition of the truck:

Thanks Guys, I actually went through some old build threads and had a blast from the past reading that, M34 was the first model I showed on here and it was built with a great assistance of truck experts from this site Besides got an idea, that since the old threads are relatively hard to find, I just might write an article on detailing this kit. Anyway here are the threads:
Early progress thread
Middle of the road thread
Some finished pics

Hi there
Jeepers, things are going fast these days! Only 1½ hour since I posted this one...
Well thank you for your 'warnings' and 'recommendations'. I wished it was a WWII vehicle but since it's not, the model is crude and the jeep is...well...perhaps not a jeep of todays standards for models, I'll leave it at the shop.
Thanks again.
BTW: Nice pics. Well done Pedro.
Cheers

I highly doubt it, its off in too many ways so no damage can hide what that jeep is...

Hi Pedro
Fantastic truck! I am amazed at what you have done with the kit.
Do you know if they were armoured up and used as convoy escort trucks? Did any mount the Quad .50 cal guns?
Well done

No Dus, those Guntrucks were built in a M35A1 (I think) chassis, diferent cargo bed. AFV Club make one of those, the famous one named "Nancy".
But you can always scratch build one, ask Animal or Mother
