Hi all,
apart Tank is there any brand issueing decent modern Russian figures ?
I'd like to accompany a BTR-ZD with one or two crew members.
Any tip about painting the modern BDU camouflage as seen in Chechnya would appreciated too.
TIA
Olivier

Thank you both.
I'll try to find something more. I'm looking for a seated soldier.
Maybe some scratch building is in sight !

Found it. You can email the poster as to where he got those seated figures. I did see a picture of a Russian company selling them; something like eight figures per kit.

Mario
EDIT: Here they are: http://www.hobbyterra.com/product.asp?idProduct=1068
I have some more detailed pics... if you are interested drop me a PM.

Thanks you all.
Maki, your input is excellent. The timeframe is not exactly what I need but I think they could be suitable for something in Chechnya however.
But the price, ouch ! 60$ is quite a pain for 6 figures plus the shipping fee to add.
Anyway, this is a good looking set.

No problems Olivier, glad I could help... I must admit I didn't thought of those figures when I first saw your post, but seeing Pete's link made me remember I had pictures of those figures saved on my PC.
$60 is a bit steep... but you are getting 6 1/2 resin figures for that price.
Mario
EDIT: Here are more photos of the set: http://restmodels.com/?p=model&id=29&s=&l=en

Hi there
According to me 1994 catalogue, Dragon/Italeri made a handfull of kits - vehicles and figures. I'm not sure wether you can get them through your LHS or E-bay. Anyways, the kits are:
Dragon:
Soviet Naval Infantry (3005D)
Soviet Motorized Rifles (3008D)
Soviet Tank Crew (3002D)
Italeri:
Soviet Paratroops Wtih Arms (339)
They're alle figures and none of them are seated unfortunately, but you might need some spare arms, torsos, equipment and small arms for your project. Don't know the quality of the figures either - perhaps worth a try?
Good luck with it

Thank you all for those inputs. I just have to make my decision and ...find the figures in my LHS !
Ant figures are splendid but the price is worse than Rest Models, 70 bucks per figure !!!

Hey, aren't ANT 54mm figures cheaper? I think 120mm figures are $70... being white metal, I guess it isn't too much...

Hi Mario,
you're right. I didn't notice the scale
The 54mm figures are priced 30$. This is a bit more affordable :-)

I didn't realize there were so many Modern Russian figures in plastic. I just might have to get some for a future invasion dio idea I had in mind. Too bad more companies can't find a market for subjects like this
