I went into my local model shop this afternoon to see if any of my magazines had come in, but found instead that in a box of new models they had the new Master Box German Capites 1944, which I was amazed to find were at pocket money prices, being £5.99 for a box with six figures, five Germans and one Russian with fixed bayonet.

Having looked in the package, which said 3 figures on the front, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are moulded to a really high standard, there is a little more flash to clean up than found on the likes of Dragon, but the mouldings are crisp, well sculpted and in some really great poses if you are looking for some Germans in non-combat poses.

I would heartily recommend them as the quality far outweighs the price that is being charged.

Needless to say, they were so good I had to have them.

John, I picked up a set the other day also, and they look pretty good in my opinion. (I not an expert on German things) I may ditch the Russian, and use a Brit or Yank as the hero of the day. :-)

I am also thinking dave that they could be used as guys who are on the losing side walking back to the lines or hospital, or after the surrender.

I must admit if the Caen figures are as good I shall buy a box and also the 1945 set with the ladies.

John, the 1945 set with the ladies is really nice, the skirts are thinly molded, and the legs are full length.
I have the Caen set, and they are worth the few dollars that they cost, I also picked up the US paratroopers set, again really not bad figures in my opinion, and well worth the $8 to $10 they cost.
They may not be Gen2 figures, but I didn't spot any sink marks, or any terrible flash spots on my sprue's, and certainly nothing that can't be over come with a little work with a #11 blade to enhance any details.

Maybe they will eventually do a set of resistance or partisans- wishful thinking-!

Hi guys,
If i remember rightly,Grumpy posted a link to ML showing the finished version of the lady figures..however i could be wrong!
At my LHS i saw a MasterBox kit with three G.I's helping their wounded mate escape. They were only about 5€ and i had a great idea for a dio going on in my head, but was put off by the price..i thought that the quality was going to be pretty bad for 5€'s.
Oh well,i'll pick 'em up next time round!
Cheers,Shay

I didn't get the kit with the ladies at IPMS Natls but I did pick up just about everything else they had there. For some reason I passed on the prisoner set and I'm kicking myself in the a$$ because I could have used them. Plus they were practically giving them away with buy 1 get one free figure sets.

I managed to find a pic of one in progress on Track Link and they look good! That good I've just ordered two boxes of them :-) . They look to be the most useful German figures I've seen in a while. I'm itching to get hold of them now! Like a kid waiting for Xmas!

Greetings all,

These look like a very useful set of figures indeed. There's a little work required as highlighted in the review, but a first class and long overdue set useful right across the board.

I like the poses and the way the uniforms have been made. More money to netmerchants LOL, LOL.

Thanks for the post John and also the link Terry.

Cheers

Al

At this moment i'm working on a review of the set. Initial thoughts are GOOD but with some reservations. Watch the review forums...Jim
