Hey guys.
Im fairly new to the world of modelling and im loving every minute of it!
However, i am finding the painting of the face extremely difficult. Its hard to get the tone and expression right on the figures i wish to portray!
Also, eyes are often difficult for me to paint also.
It would be appreciated if someone could also outline some techniques used to paint whole figures...ie, how to create an effective realistic looking figure rather than a single toned mess!
Thanks
Phil

If you click on the Historicus Forma at the top of the page, it will bring you to the figure painters site. I'm sure they will be much better at answering your questions as that's what the majority of them specialize in, painting figures.

I'm going to guess you're using figures that came with a model. Many of those are very poorly scuplted with soft details. It's much harder to get expression on what amounts to a blank canvas. look into the line of Hornet heads. They are available from Colorado Miniatures. As you can see from the limnk, they have a lot of expression sculpted in and this will make you job a lot easier.

Being in the UK, Phil, it would probably be cheaper for you to try
Hornet & Wolf
or
Histroex Agents
Probably a lot cheaper on the shipping.
