Taesung Harmms (of Alpine Miniatures) has discovered another of those repulsive little individuals, who sell PIRATED figures etc. to people who (in their ignorance) believe they are getting a bargain.
Taesung's thread can be seen: HERE
Just remember, it's NOT saving money it's NOT clever, it's THEFT...

Scum...!! Absolute scum!.....
This is the worst possible thing that can happen in our hobby. Flame wars, people dissing other's sites and all the petty argumennts aside, this is the one thing that has the potential to do the most damage to the modelling industry. Honest folks trying to make a living and do the hobby a service by providing high quality products to enhance our work are having their very livlihood threatened by this illegal and immoral practice. I am sometimes tempted to look for a bargain because of the expense involved, but I will NEVER, NEVER use a scumbag outfit like this to furnish the hobby that I love so much.
NEVER buy from these pirates, NEVER encourage this practice, NEVER be tempted.....!!!
....rant off.....

It is out right theft and we as a group should be sure to avoid ever buying such copies. If they don't have a market it will stop.

I believe the time has come for a Web-wide initiative (from the major) modelling sites to counter this pond-life....Jim

One thing that would help are examples of pirated stuff. I buy a lot of stuff on ebay and there are some sellers that I know are pirates because I have see the same figs made by manufacturers like Verlinden. In the past though, I wonder if I've bought pirated stuff without knowing.
If there could be a specific part of Armorama for people to report prated stuff (with pictures if possible) it would make it easier for us to check before buying.

It is possible that they are are Verlinden ones, or other legit manufacturers, being resold on ebay, but they should say that in the posting. I've never bought and sold on ebay, it's always seemed to me that there's little control on what's being sold there and you could end up funding an illegal practice without knowing it. Just be very, very careful and remember the old chestnut, "If it looks too good to be true........"
