Greeting all,
Here's a couple of not very good pictures of the crew for the boats:

A few questions:
1. Is the Order of Dress correct for the USN?
2. Should the RN crew have bell-bottoms or would they be OK as is?
Apoligies for the poor pics but I had to take them indoors with the flash.
Cheers
Al

Alan, I posted some WW2 US Navy Deck Jackets in my gallery.
The titles are self explanatory.
Deck Jackets
Can't answer about the Royal Navy, but I believe bell bottoms were popular with them also.

Hi Dave,
The only version I'd seen showed it as being a leather type jacket, but buff work probably be my best option.
Thanks very much for the pictures, 'Murphy's Law' that I see them now LOL, LOL.
Thanks again,
Cheers
Al

They look pretty good to me. Where are the figures from?

Hi Gino,
The 3 USN crew are made up of 2 old Tamiya Figures the US Army guy walking and the sitting chap is the MC rider from the Tamiya bike. The 3rd character is the tank crewman from the M7 Priest.
Of the 2 RN chaps one is Monty from the Old Italeri Set and the other is from the MB Commando set, the chap in the camo smock.
All have new Hornet heads and some changes in their arms.
The USN are now wearing N-1 Deck Jackets (the brown/buff ones) and the RN guys have Bells on LOL, LOL
Thanks for the feedback.
Cheers

Now all they need is a bottle of rum and a strumpet. :-) :-)

Hi Dave,
Thanks, I have a bottle of rum for the guy with the rope :-) :-) :-) depending on the final setting :-) :-) :-)
I've done a little touching up since the pics, as I spotted a few things I'd misses last night once I took the photo.
Cheers

Hi Allen, figures are looking good mate, ref RN matelots probably would have worn denims similar to the US sailors youve depicted so well These type of denims would probably have consisted of a navy jersey, navy denim trousers, black cap, duffle coat or oilskins or in some cases navy bib and brace overalls the use of the word denim might be misleading as they were cotton material.Officers would have worn navy BD type serge uniforms with navy peaked cap or if required steel pots there were also a light blue shirt worn with the above uniform.I believe this type of dress was known as no 8 dress.Iam sure some of the shipwright boys would be able to add alot more to the above.Hope this helps. Before I sign off the landing craft look the business well done.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for the feedback. I prefer the RN guys in jumpers, sea boots and oilies/duffels myself , but as the boats will be in harbour I though a couple in smarter dress might be OK., either on the pier or boats, just back from shore leave.
Don't know what that particular order of dress is called but there are a few pics/models of them dresser in something similar.
That's good info about the officers, blue BD will be easy, if I can find an appropriate hat, the figure from the Tamiya Bren carrier might suit that purpose and I have another seaman in trousers and jumper directing vehicles onto the 2nd LCM I'm working on.
I've started the 2nd boat, a British version this time so I hope that will make a nice contrast. I have the AA Staghound from the Widows Sale that needs a home so it might make a suitable vehicle loading onto the 2nd boat, or perhaps a well loaded Bedford Truck
Some WRENs for the pier/sea wall would also be good and a few more officer types over looking proceedings.
Glad you like the boats and crew so far.
Cheers

Greetings all,
Here's some pics of the crew in the LCP (R) and of a couple of the Trumpeter figures for the LCM 3.
LCP (R) crew

Apologies about the poor quality of the pics, indoor shots.
The chap with his hands out who is the gunner from the set will be carring 2 cups of coffee the other guy leaning against the outside of the boat.
Cheers
