BDU's ( battle dress uniform) were the 4 tone camoflauge, green, black, dark brown, light brown was the basic issued uniform till last OCT.

DCU's (Desert Combat Uniform) are the 3 tone light tan, tan, and light brown uniforms primarialy used in Desert Envirionments.

ACU's (Army Combat Unifor) is the new digital camoflauged uniform. It has about 4 diffrent colors in little square pixel designs. It has taken over as the basic issued uniform for US Army soldiers.

Our prays have been answered once again-DML jump on the Stryker bandwagon but this time the title says Stryker family, this could perhaps mean a 3 in 1 or more varients to come?? You never no. Damn I cant wait to see how Dragon go about this vehicle-lots PE details hopefully, figures???

Maybe they will take variants that have very similar hulls and make multiple vehicle choice pack, like the ICV, CV, ESV. Which only take a few items to make them a diffrent variant. The only other two that would be easy to do this would be the RV and FSV. All others would need quite a bit of hull modification to make the specific vehicles.

this is what I get for being away from modelling and here for awhile, really big news happens!! I just got to my main base after working with a Stryker unit up north and the whole time I'm seeing these I'm thinking, "wouldn't be cool to have a model of these?" Hallujah! 3 Stryker kits to choose from when I come home next year!!!

ICVs only have Army ACU troops in them.

Not necessarily true. Deploying units ,which included the Stryker BDEs, were/are priority to field ACUs to. However, each soldier is issued 2-4 sets of ACUs, and is still issued 2-4 sets of DCUs as well. You can still have DCU-clad soldiers with a Stryker.

ACU-clad figures would be nice though. As stated above though, you can use any of the MARPAT figures as well. The MARPAT and ACU are close enough in 1/35 to be interchangable.

don't know about other bases, but RFI is pretty much stocked up on ACU's so now that's all you get when you deploy. 4th ID was the last unit out of Hood to get DCU's along with ACU's. In my unit, we all got 4 sets of ACU's.

converting MARPAT to ACU is easy. Majority of the modiofications are on the leg pockets. The main cargo pockets on ACU's are slanted towards the front and ACU's have a small pocket on each calf. Pockets on the blouses are pretty much the same, just the ACU's have a bunch of annoying velcro. When I go home on leave, I'll pull my figures from storage that I did conversions on.

STRYKER STRYKER STRYKER, Thank you dml for making our dreams come true in armor world!!! To have 3 different companies make this model is just awsome. This has to be the neatest modern armor release to come our way .Now to have a after market company come out with some PE and maybe the added armor to go along with it just would totaly complete this. Accurate ,Edwurd,Voyager,BLAST,and Worriers can you hear us calling!!! I know its early but any sort of time frame on the strykers release?

Besides the Stryker being a DML "Mystery Kit," I wonder if there is a DML of AFV-Club "Mystery Man" just like the DML M1A1 AIM had Mr. (you-know-who ) give them a hand.

I believe the Stryker ICV was drawn in 1/35 side, front, and top blueprint views in one of Concord's "Journal of Heliborne and Armored Warfare" books. As such, the plans are out there already for almost any modelmaster to use.

If there is a DML or AFV-C "Mystery Man" giving Stryker help, and if DML and/or AFV-C does get it right, then wow, imagine what other cool modern kits that "Mystery Man" can do for us!

Don't look at me...I'm not this "MM."

lol...
if there is a "mystery man" he should think about a modern AAV(P,C or R)7 with the bigfoot style tracks, an EAAK and an interior in the kit....
I mention it just in case he´s one of us^^...

But which stryker kit will be the best? the Trumpeter Lav isn´t really bad, and trumpeter´s stryker kit propably won´t be too expensive, the dragon kit(s) propably include many different versions, but I´ve never built an AFV club kit myself, so what can I expect?
