I dont reckon it will have a birdcage, this would be pretty rubbish in plastic anyway! Accurate armor did some pretty nice rpg armour for the chally and Warrior, maybe they will give this some treatment. It should be a fantastic kit and no doubt with plenty of room for conversion and super detailing, aspecially with all the reference pics around of it.

I think one thing this shows us modelers is that if we post enough for something, the model manufacturers will build to our request. (I recall the Stryker was one of the "most wanted" kits on those "What Kits Would You Like to See?" threads. However, I also noticed that the modelers didn't say WHICH Stryker so looks like all of them will be ICV). So it seems that model companies do read the forums. That, or the Stryker is the newest AFV to enter U.S. service in a long while so model kit manufacturers are pouncing at the business opportunity.

Peter-you're right, companies are finally listening to us, i think the ICV is the best option to go with as its probably the most common and most useful from a modelling POV.

Not to mention that one can put figures in it, on it, around it,, with it, etc. Anyone care to make a squad of ACU figures for the ICV? (ICVs only have Army ACU troops in them).
Ahhh, I gave someone more work to do! ===>> Don't shoot me! Don't shoot me!)

Heres hoping warriors or someone will make some decent ACU troops. I guess they could be converted from warriors Marine figures and painted in ACU colours, or even the recent Blast releases. if anyone has the latest issue of Model military international its got a fantastic article on the new army gear with loads of colours pics.
Whos going to scratch build an interior then?? After my Bradley interior I dont think I can handle another one just yet!

Not necessarily true. Deploying units ,which included the Stryker BDEs, were/are priority to field ACUs to. However, each soldier is issued 2-4 sets of ACUs, and is still issued 2-4 sets of DCUs as well. You can still have DCU-clad soldiers with a Stryker.
Worth 1000 words:
ACU-clad figures would be nice though. As stated above though, you can use any of the MARPAT figures as well. The MARPAT and ACU are close enough in 1/35 to be interchangable.

I stand corrected . 2007 is still a ways away. Anything can happen from now until then.
I'd like to see some Javelin ATGMs though from somebody. A Stryker ICV is meant to carry two Javelin launchers and four missiles (to make up for the lack of a turret), at least on paper that is. Before people start saying Javelins aren't being taken to Iraq in Strykers, bear in mind that a model kit should represent deployment to almost any part of the world unless specifically labeled for a specific conflict.
Anyway, great news for modern armor fans! .

...and BDUs outside of Iraq. This was at the NTC. Most modelers will not be able to depict a slat Stryker initially and even assuming an aftermarket company comes along may not want to pay the extra big bucks to do it. So, a training environment may be a good choice.
