The Current Events forum will be closed until further notice. It's not really adding to the model making aspect of the site and I don't really want to see our forums get like RMS (rec.models.scale) where users are just outright rude to each other.
I was against the Current Events forum from the beginning. I am sorry to have been proven right about it.

It's too bad the forums had to be locked, but I agree with your decision, Jim.
I sincerely hope I didn't overstep my bounds in any posts - I tried not to.

We all love history, we love building history, and we love modeling history. That is why we are at this site. There is enough strife in the world....let's work on building something. Maybe the UN will come to us someday and ask how such a disperate group can work together with such harmony. Maybe then, we can let them in on our secret....sniff a little glue now and then...everything is cool...as long as you share...

Good call Jim!
Got to the point where I wouldn't even venture in there. The world's problems ain't gonna be solved here and the only outcome would be to start slinging at each other. Not my idea for Armorama!
Now, back to modeling! OOH-RAH!

Thanks Jim,
Sometimes the shutdown of something improves the site just as much as building something new !!

Thanks guys. I appriciate the vote of confidence in the decision. I would also like to thank those users who voiced their concerns about the CE forum and for speaking up. I always am interested in hearing what you guys think about the site.
Thanks again,
Jim

Thanks Jimbo.. This modeling site was turning into Current Event site with people getting hungry for a quarrel. Not my cup of tea actually.. I'm glad Armorama will be about sharing modeling skills and tips again...

I thought the forum was interesting, but I did think once or twice that it was hitting way too close to home for my taste. The problem with that, for me, was I didn't let go of my feelings in the other postings the CE posters had posted to on other subjects. When I found myself doing that I steered far away from that forum, or tried to anyway. I'll echo the comments already stated here - thanks Jim for your outstanding taste and judgement!!!

I've never really ventured into the CE forum, I sensed it was not the place for the faint hearted and stayed out, but I think that was very bold and absolutley the right move to make.
Another indication of how well this site is run.
Thanks Jim

I enjoyed reading posts in that forum but yes, some of the topics got out of hand. Closing it was probably a smart move, Jim. We wouldn't anyone going "postal" now would we?
