Hi All,
On the British side I would like to see a new Matilda II (early) or even a Matilda I. Any of the early British cruisers. A little Mk.VIb light tank . New Daimler Dingo. A Morris armoured car and a Bren Carrier with proper tracks would be nice. And don't get me started on French armour. A new Somua S35, an accurate Hotchkiss H39, new Renault R35, FCM36, AMR35, Renault ACG-1, Char D2, new Panhard P-178 A/C.
But I doubt I will see ANY of these too soon. I think there is a real gap in the market for a Panzer II but I think late war subjects are more likely.
Why does everyone want a new Churchill? Is the Tamiya one that bad?

TimTam27
The Tamiya Churchill is reasonable and contains a few errors for a Typical WW2 vehicle. The Problem is that is very difficult to backdate to the more common variants of Churchill such as the MKIII and IV. Add to that the AVRE etc and it is a much desired lineup.
The question you asked is very similar to someone asking in 1980
"why does everyone want a new Tiger? Are the Nichimo and Tamiya ones that bad?"
If you have seen the original Tamiya Tiger and the Nichimo one you will have the answer to your question.

The Churchill will offer a wide range of variants. If a basic kit is developed, it will not need so much to do make additional sprues for any version. And there are as much variants like Shermans possible.
DML and Trumpeter do you hear me?
And a Sherman Jumbo is overdue !!!!!!

My grails are already out there (or due very soon) with one exception..
PACV hovercraft!
I know it is a long shot, but think about it..
There I was in 1990 wanting 'modern' IDF and Viet Nam era spec ops figures.. poof!! DML arrived on the scene
Then I get into Soviet armor, ba-boom! DML.. Tamiya T72 and 55, Skif (yeah, I know that hardly counts), Trumpeter does the Sam launchers, now EE, Zvezda and ALanger with BMD's. Skif is supposed to be doing a Tunguska.. I'd love it to be Tamiya or at this point Trumpeter, but in good time
And let's go back and retool the T62.
While I wasn't looking, Tamiya and Trumpeter started doing modern JGSDF stuff.
Type 90 LAV, and the wheeled armored cars.
I'd been dreaming of IDF M113's esp the Zelda perforated Toga armor.. Zap! Academy arrives.. and a series of 113 based vehicles.
The SF3D series is briefly revieved...
When I find about about WWII German IR work. blam! Tamiya IR panther AND steel wheeled. Since then retooled A's from DML now a super G. Lets not count the Italeri A, shall we..
A side trip into paper panthers. Zot! DML to the rescue with F, II, Flak and Arty obs..
Then DML goes back to IR with the 3-1 251 kit and every variant thereof. Along the way DML has done the 234's, 250's and the 251's
Now DML AND AFV are doing UHU.. Who would have thought there would be TWO injection molded UHU to pick from! I know they are not out there yet, but I am waiting. Afv is doing the IR group, other than the Falke none of which were 'real' as far as I know, but still cool as all get out.
While we are on sci-fi german, what about the Dust line of figures /kits.. more of those please.
The Strykers are on the way from DML, AFV, Trumpeter , the late war funky Grille II from Turmpter as well as BMP3 and a MAZ.
Big scale doesn't do much for me BUT a 1/16th T34 and a King Tiger opens the door for a 1/16th Panther with interior!
Lets not forget 1/35th helos.. still wanting a decent huey slick in 1/35th but the Panda kit is out there as are C model gunships, Oh6 and little birds, ch47's.
Hinds!!! Come on! who EVER thought there would be a 1/35th scale HIND! and the Hip. Cobras we still need an early model gunship, but the whisky cobra is great too.
So, while this large pile of plastic settles and the credit card cools.. I'll wait for a PACV..

40mm Bofors AA Gun
A Bofors would be great!
DML and AFV , Tristar and to a lesser extent Tamiya/Italeri have done much of the WWII German AA inventory. The new Jaboschrek (sp?) is a sweet little kit of an obscure gun.
The Bofors was EVERYWHERE!
You could then put one in the back of an IDF M3 halftrack coming soon to a hobbyshop near you... :-) :-)

Gotta have the Brit AC kits to fill the stash. Armored trains would be very cool too! Towed Bofors and H/T conversions would come next and then the 17 pounder Pheasant. With these and announced releases of 1/32 aircraft kits,I will be totally broke for the next 2.5 years

With you there Graeme. Given Italeri will have a tooled up 35th Bofors on a naval mount for the 80' Elco PT boat it isn't a far stretch to see them maximise their tooling effort to produce a ground carriage to go with it. I'd be very surprised if we didn't see a Crusader mk 1 AA with 40 mm also given there late love affair with the Crusader.
As for a 17 pdr I'd be as happy as when they told me DML were doing the Sherman III

One Holy Grail I really wanted is a real, recently tooled SU-76 or SU-76M kit but I think Miniart may be taking on the task and putting it out ....
A good one that would be right down Dragon's alley is a new kit of the Sd kfz 263 (8-Rad) Radio Armoured Car Another would be a plastic kit of the B4 203mm towed howitzer and its corrisponding (a guess) tractor, the "Voroshilovets" prime-mover
I would also love to see in 1/16 scale, a Sd.Kfz 222...US jeep...Gaz AAA or BA-3 armoured car.... or even a StugIII

At the risk of rousing the 'Anything_But_German' lobby,
I'd like to see the EinheitsDiesel 6x6 truck released in plastic.
Plenty of variants, in service throughout the war (though production ceased in '41, or was it '43..?)
Anyway, one cool truck that deservs to be out there...

TimTam27 seems to have pre-empted nearly all my wants - apart from a Bofors.
ESCI must have planned a Bofors at some point as their Seaforth Highlanders figure set (also released by Heller) is so obviously a Bofors crew...

DML made the Maus, and even the E-100, which only ever saw life as an unfinished hull. How 'bout something that was finished? There's even an example at Ft. Knox!
Failing that, an updated M42 Duster would be sweet. Even the old Tamiya kit is hard to find these days.

I think the next area wil be modern. There have been some nice kits out there of US, British< and German, but Russian has been sadly neglected. Tamiya did a bang up job with the T55a, so I am a wee bit surprised that no one retooled the T-62 or T-72 to make those more accurate or put out the more recent stuff like the T-80 series or 90's. There are also tons of variants for those so a company like Dragon could release 4 or 5 variants of each.
I think the Britsh WW2 field has been almost ignored with the Churchills and Valentines and all those vaiant. Also all those wonderful British armored cars from the 60's like the Saladin

How about a tortoise in 1/35th or 1/16th scale? I have visions of a dio where one of these beasts squashes (literally) a Tiger I. Or maybe the whole TOG series?
On a slightly serious note the Bofers AA guns were used by everyone - the early Polish Army variant strikes me as the most obvious first release but hey I'm biased! Consequently, there are numerous marketing options for greedy manufacturers.
On the Bofers topic a 37mm AT gun would also be very welcome. Some one out there in internetland correct me - does a Polish/ Ukrainian/ Russian manufacturer already produce one?
As for armour; it's got to be the early Matilda MG/ Infantry tank - I've never fancied the Churchill. A post-war Conqueror would also go down a treat. More realistically, a Gulf War I Centurion would be really lovely - how about it AFV Club?
Finally a 1/35th sacle Staghound in 12 Pulk Ulan markings is criminally overdue - come on DML! Whilst you're at it how about a nice Boarhound?
Cheers

1/35 is endless :-)
what about;
a storch recon plane WW2 german?
an American counterpart
(would make a great dio)
a dc9 (hope i got it right)
various fighter/bombers
civil cars (old and modern)
civil trucks of todays "hotspots"
modern nato forces/peace keepers
topedoboot, E-boot, smal minesweepers, fregats,
(navy is an virgin world in 1/35 imagine the poss in dio's)
and maybe, if they can shop enough wood to make the box, a Dora railwaygun, since there is a urge for railwaystuf i noticed
Indeed the churchill, long missed variants
( specialy the bridgelayer)
and for the Shermaholics, why don't they come up with a set to "bolt" onto an existing say, Dragon , kit to make all those variants in minecleering divises.
Well that's my list( together with pretty much everything said before :-) )

Since you've mentioned Churchills, why not a whole new series on the british tanks which are mostly from Italeri. Also some softskins. There are still a lot more which need improving. How about the M8 high speed tractor?

Amen to all that is on your list. There is a long list of neglected British armor and softskins. The FV432s has ahole lot of variants which would make an interesting series.

Personally I think a new tooled Bren Carrier logically followed on by the Universal Carrier would be great. We have have APC from them for both the Germans and US. Also the Universal Carrier saw service with both all the major Allied nations in the war. I would love to see a Russian Carrier armed with the DSHK.
