Ola guys
Another update of my Miniart T70 project. Also a bit of the groundwork is visible. I will create another post in Diorama's showing more of the groundwork and the placement of both tank and figure. The tank is nearly finished.. some minor touchups here and there and you have to think a thin layer of snow to the scene.
Ok enough talk here are the pictures:
As usual I'm really curious what you guys think

Really impressive work.
My only very minor nit picking would be the headlamp. The glass seem's too clean, too bright. Maybe a little dirt or even unpolish it a little with very fine sandpaper?
Thanks for sharing.

I like it. I like it alot. I really like the way you beat this tank up. The penetration mark, the rust, the paint chips are very well executed. The asbestos around the exhaust is a nice touch. Keep it up.

Ola', my friend!
Robert, you've done well here, mate, excellent job! A thin layer of snow should really put the piest de resistance to this scene!
Overall, what are your thoughts of the kit as a whole? Personally, I think it's a fantastic little model kit that builds up (easily!) into a very nice and quite accurate vehicle. . .

Ola Guys
Thanks for your replies.
@ Richard
You are right about the lamp... At first I wanted it to be shiny as new thought it looked kinda funny till I put it on the vehicle and actually did't like it immediately.. As the effect that I wanted of algea that gathered in the bottom of the glass due to condensation did not turn out the way I wanted I think it is good to make it just as battered as the vehicle itself.
@ Creading
Yes I did handpaint the numbers... The decals were nice but I couldn't see a way of going around it easily.. so I went the hard way but also the best looking way by handpainting the numbers

Thanks for the compliments

Thanks for the compliment. I hope to do the snow this evening.
My overall thoughts about this kit? Well the quality is very good... An absolute minimum required. The tracks are one of the best in plastic outside the Dragon normal and Magictracks. Wonderfull clear building manual. Good painting descriptions... At first glance the decals look also very good but I haven't used them.
There are some points that you need to take care of.. The Suspension arms are very flimsy and break very easily... that is what happened a couple of times with this model. Also it would be nice if they had casted the Asbestos covering on the exhausts as most of the pictures that I have seen of T70's both wartime as walkaround have them but then again by not including it they gave me the opportunity to do my own battered asbestos covering. Last but not least... It would be nice if they had put in a small PE fret for the two grills that this vehicle has... yes the molded grills are quite nice and can be built into something nice. But still they lack the detail of PE grills... I didn't had the grills and I wanted to do it OOTB.
All in all a very nice kitwhich isn't exactly cheap... It rivals the price of Dragon kits and the detail comes pretty close to them too although the kit has less parts.
I bought this kit out of curiosity just to find out what the detail was And I was happily surprised. If this is the quailty of all their kits then we can expect some very nice upcoming releases... Things like the Bantam Bugy and sorts which they also have on their anouncement lists. One kit that I recommend to everybody

Looks great Robert, I like the decrepit what appears to be asbestos wrap on the exhaust system.

Great one. It will tie in well with the scene if you add some snow. Maybe the grass should be a little less green and more brownish in colour.
Alternatively you could leave it as it is. A tank that was knocked out during the last winter battles and is still left on the battlefield in the spring
Anyway, a really nice model. I might give this one a try some time.

Ehm... can you tell us how you made the grass?
