Hi everybody

At first, I have to introduce myself. My name is Nico and I´m from germany. I´m interested in 1/35 afv modeling, especially german armor.

In this special case I´m looking for pictures of the so called "Schienenwolf". In english it should be called rail ripper

It was mainly used by the germans during their retreat from russia, to destroy any railway section, to leave nothing else than "burnt earth".

I want to put it behind my BR 52 from Trumpeter and need to know now, how the destroyed rails looked like. I used google to find something but with no success.

I hope some of you may help me

Thanx and best regards

Thanx guys,

but this was not the thing, I´m looking for. I have the model from baluard. I need pictures from this thing in service. To create a realistically destroyed railway I want to see pictures of this.

Maybe someone of you knows a website or something else, which will help me

greets Nico

Nico, I have seen pictures of this in action, but I'm @ work, so can't access them. However you don't really need a picture if you understand the principle of this piece of equipment. Basically it just destroyed the sleepers of the railway line. The hook was lowered into the ballast, & the train set off. The hook just tore the sleepers in half, so what you get is two splintered ends pointing upwards. It does nothing to the rails themselves, but of course with the sleepers destroyed & the railbed ploughed up, the line is useless.
