The questions just keep coming so here's another one....I came across this pic of a M3 Grant during operation Dragoon in South-France.
I can't tell from the small photo, but are you sure it's a Grant? It is more likely to be an M31 ARV. I see what might be a tow clevis on the front of the differential housing, which might point to an ARV.

Does anyone know what colour scheme and markings were used?
Well, the colour would be OD. As for markings, there appears to be a French tricolour on the front plate, which matches what appear to be French soldiers on the vehicle. I'd take a look for whatever French units might have been equipped with M31s (as I'm pretty sure none had Lees or Grants).
