Here are the shots of my recently built (took about a year before I got it finished, don't ask why :-) ) Now it awaits its first coat of paint I replaced grab handles with fine wire, PE light guards, engine mesh, and white metal parts come with the kit. Side rails and stowage basket were sratchbuild using soda can aluminium sheet. 37mm barrel and coax MG were replaced wit syryngie needles. Double 'I' PE trackpads are produced also by Mirage Hobby but it has to be bought separately. It's only 5$ for the whole set but combined with the price of the kit, gives some 20$ for the whole.
It will be painted as general Montgomery's command tank 'Monty'.
Any and all coments are as always welcome.

Cheers
Greg

This is an impressive build. I've got three of the kits from this series (M3 Lee, Lend Lease Kursk M3, Monty's M3 Grant), but have not built any of them. I did see a build article in the magazine Military in Scale for these kits.

Hi Greg,

I'm interested to see this one finished! It sure looks detailed for the scale!

I still do not understand how some of you guys can build a model completely and then paint! How do you get complete coverage?

Thanks Robin,
I think after this I will to have to get one of their Lee's, and they even have the M3A1 hanging in their catalogue, that would be really interesting

Hi Gary,
Detailed as it is, I still wonder why they treated the sandskirts so badly (no rivet or any other detail) It still would be fairly easy even with conventional moulding technique

Derek,
I sometimes wonder the same thing, this will be my first model where I cant actually take off the tracks so we'll see

Cheers

Looks great, God Bless your good eye sight. I use to love 1/72 scale aircraft, now I struggle with 1/48th.

Thanks Dave,
My friend said something similar (after asking do I get satisfaction from finishing 1:72 kits :-) ), he stated that I should build them while I still can! Hey, there's still optical equipment that should be of help?

Cheers

Good point Greg. I didn't even notice that as the bolts on the main hull and transmission cover are so well pronounced!

Can't wait to see the finished model!
