Ola People

I did some little work on: Ye Good Ol` Lady again.
Today I started to work on a copy of the dashboard inside but after two times of screwing up I decided to use the old dash` As It probably won`t be visible in the end. But it`s just for the feeling. I drilled a couple of holes on the places where the meters were and with some copper wire I made some cables sticking out of the holes. Further I cutout the original seats and put in both two strips of metal made out of a pie lid.
I cutout the benches in the back leaving the complete backcompartiment as a lovely corner for the pigs :-)
I also put in the roadwheels at one side the other side will be resting in a small earth mount as I lost a couple of roadwheels during the years but maybe I find them and then the whole schedule changes :-) :-)
Further I made replicas of the stowagebins on both sides of the vehicle. Both were made out of the same pie lid As the thingys on the drivers seats ( some sort of custom photoetching :-) :-) :-)
Not finished yet still have a lot to do, Sanding filling puttying Painting rusting

But enough talk for now here are the pics

Don`t look at the awfully painted wheels. It was something I didi 7 years ago :-)

The stowage bins are a bit shiny due to the lighting when I took those pics.

If you were a pig wouldn`t you love to be in here????

Looking good Faust, but I wil use 0,2 or smaller copperwire for the wire of the the dashboard.
But I I`m currious for the end results of this vehicle

That's a neat project.. One other thing I thought of would be a "haunted" Hanomag with a crew of skeletons manning the controls/weapons..lol #:-)

Well Ronald

I could use 0,2 wire but as it probably wont be visible at all it`s more like I don`t care that much about it. And the wire that I`m using now was what I could find here at home.
But thanks for the Comment anyway something to keep in mind for the future.

Thanks for the comments all

Nice job Robert! Can't wait to see this finished!

Hair-thin wires can be found inside audio/speaker cables. They're so thin that they can be cut with ordinary scissors. You might want to look for them around your home. Don't cut up your home entertainment system though #:-)

Faust
This is coming together very well. I love the stowage boxes, very nice.
I noticed the back of the seats look scratch built. The documentation I have seen has the seat backs as more of a looped wire type of spring instead of a flat strap. You mention that you may not be able to see the dash board wires, will that be the case on the back of the seats?

Keep up the good work.

Scott

I know they have some Kinda springs in the seat but...
To answer your question: No I don`t think the strips on the backseats will be very good visible If even NOT visible as there comes a big tenthcloth and some planks will make some roof on the open top so the pics are dry when it rains. So the inside of the vehicle will be quite dark.
And if it`s visible then I still don`t bother about it as I`m not that bigga rivet counter. It`s more for my own feeling that it`s there. I was already happy that the stowage bins came out so good :-) :-)

Anyway thanks for all the comments so far everybody

Faust - I can't argue with you one little bit. Build for yourself first! As always my comments are not born out of wanting you to change anything, just out of sharing information.

Keep up the good work!

Faust, Very good, re the wire, you could get some very thin wire from electrical cable, just cut it apart.

Man, that is an extremely interesting and unique project. It looks awesome. Are you going to work on the floor any? or is it going to be hidden from view with the other items? I ask because I would think the floor would be rusty as well if the sides were rotting through.

Thanks everybody for the comments so far

Grifter to answer your question:
The vehicle where you are looking at was an old model that I made several years ago.
so the whole model was once completely painted. What you are now looking at is a model that is still waiting for the paint job. And I still have a lot of work to do. But yeah the floor will be as rusty as the rest of the vehicle. But I doubt it if there is much of it to see as it`s destination is going to be a pigsty so probably the whole floor will be covered with straw and hay
