Greetings all,

A little more work done on the 2nd QLD. A wooden bodied one this time.

I might need to re-work the tarp as my first thought was to leave either end open and the sides rolled up but looking at the pictures they mainly had a solid rectangle as covering which would mean the sides would need to be thrown up top and the front would stay in place.

Still awaiting trhe AA cab but it sort of looks like a truck :-) :-) :-) :-)

Probably be a RSC vehicle.

Managed to knock off a couple of cleats lol but it's beginning tio take shape. Making the little metal ties is a pain.

Chers

Hi Alan

Great work on the rear bed.
Why not just build it with the stripped down cab rather than replacing it?
You could depict it being used somewhere hot, like Italy or something?
Lots of former portees were converted to GS trucks.

All the best

Hi Dus,

I might use it on the Pier DIo, but I haven't decided yet. Also have changed my original thoughts on how I want the back to look and will straighten the supports and add a central bar which is missing. The tarp, which was a rectangle will be thrown back to about half way, exposing the floor and stores, at leat that's my thought's at the moment lol.

I have thought about doing one with the open style cab but the replacement cab is on route and I have already cut the front down to accept it.

Getting the right shape for the rear was my main concern.

A couple of updates:

Unfortunately the flash kills of the colour, but it's truck like :-) :-)

Thanks for the input.

Cheers

Al

Hi Dave,

Some more progress or not lol, lol.

Have weathered the inside cargo area although the flash has made it look EXTRA bright and re-positioned the tilts and tarp so that it will be folded back form the end of the truck.

Hi guys,

Dave I'd love to see some updates in plastic but these still have life left in them yet.

Bill, don't know about the final location for this one yet. AA have a YMCA canteen truck that is due to come out some time soon and if the price is right it may go on the pier proper.

I really wanted to see if I could build the wooden body to a half decent standard so this one is a bit of an experiment, like most of my builds.

I'll see how it turns out and decide on a home for it then.

Cheers

Al
