Hi everyone guys,
im here again to ask your opinion about this little experiment i've done trying to achive a "convincing" home made zimmerit...or something that could go close to it.....
:-)

I used milliput streched with an old fresh Pasta machine ( ...!!!...) , in two differents types , a Tiger and a Panther or Jagdpanther one.

Here are the pics, any comments are welcome..

Regards from the land of sunshine and happiness....!!
Thanks.
Alex

I like the look of your "Panther" pattern better. However, you might make those lines free hand --- the seem too straight. If you look at photos of that checker pattern, you'll see that some worker just went along and did it without any straight edge to guide him.

On the lower example, try to keep the columns closer together. On photos I've seen, there are no smooth vertical spaces left.

Finally, don't be afraid to make the milliput very thin -- and press down into the plastic with your scriber/screwdriver, etc. If it's blotchy, that's OK.

Keep up the good work!

Hello!

Especially the first one looks good.
Please find the third "waffle"-pattern made from Revell's putty with JS-models tools.

cheers,

The waffle one looks amazing.
I'll keep trying maybe ill be able to reach a good result for my next work.

Thanks again.

P.S.
The correct name was CAIUS ( Caio Giulio Cesare ) and not GAIUS ( that in Latin means Happy ).

Actually it's "Gaivs Ivlivs Caesar" but nobody would know who it is. "C" was "G" in roman times
