I really like this. Charles nailed it. Perfectly cold looking palette, all grays. Even using white for the buitl up gback section contributes to the feel. Also the snow laying on the tank is just where it should be for the presentation. I'd give this a strong A+.

Very nice, Charles. A Tiger in the ice and snow. Nicely done, almost had to put my gloves on to type this post. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.
Well done, amigo.
Btw, I live just north of you, in San Bruno.

Gday Charles
I reckon I've seen this before; maybe a work in progress?...
I love the composition, and the choice of figures gives a sense of "We aren't stopping to look at a tank", basically ignoring the main part of the diorama themselves!
The brush fence is a nice touch
Cheers

Fantastic diorama!
I think I've already seen it, but it's full of drama and pathos!
Congrats and Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Several WIP photos have been online but I never got around to sending in the finished shots.
This was a fun project.
Cheers,
Charles

Fantastic piece of work charles, captured an atmosphere there reminds me of those last scenes from the movie Stalingrad.

How to build dioramas! Perfect all-round (no pun intended) diorama Charles. Planning, execution, effects .... in fact everything is top notch ...no weak areas. I like the fact that the only warm(?) and contrasting colours are the face of the injured guy in the sledge. Thanks for sharing.

WOW! It is excellent in every way. As somebody already said, "you can feel the cold emanating from this dio".
Excellent snow on the tank and expertly painted face on the "passenger"!
Happy holidays!

Great Diorama!!! I also think your choice of background for the photos was excellent. Gives the photos and almost black and white feel that really intensifies the cold feeling. Excellent.

What scale is this diorama? I like it very much!

Thanks again everybody for the positive comments.
John, (Easy-Co),
I was trying to get that same desperate/desolate feeling that those final scenes in Stalingrad evoke. Thanks for the comment.
Steve (Novembersong),
The trees are a combination of twigs from the yard and scratched (wire armature trees) The larger tree fallen in front of the tank with limbs in the ice is a scratched one.
Darren (Darreng),
This is 1:35. It is a Tamiya Tiger (the early kit)
Thanks again everyone,
Cheers and Happy Holidays,
Charles

Koen (Koenele),
Thanks for the comments.
The pulling figure is from Firestorm Models "Retreat from Stalingrad" set.
The wounded soldier is a Hornet head with a simple scratched body form under the tarp.
Cheers and Happy Holidays,
Charles

This is one of the most poignant dioramas I've seen in a long time. I love its simplicity and the emotional scene.

Charles,
Nice to see your piece again.
For those interested, Rhodes Williams and I awarded Charles a Gold When we judged at the Dragon Expo in '06.
Simple, powerful, and well executed. Can't beat that.
