New to dios and vigs. Wondering if I could get a few ideas here on how to proceed. Basic idea is Pzk IV that has run out of fuel in the Ardennes. Wanted to get some critique on the groundwork so far and composition.

Nice Panzer! - the ground work looks good - my only nitpick would be the "steps" look too regularly spaced- break them up a little and I believe you will have it!

Looking good, I think your tracks need a little bit of 'bare metal' on the parts where they contact the ground as they would build up quite a shine in use.

Hi mate,
If this is your first dio,you are def. on the right track( ).Two comments i do have though is that the area to the left of the dio looks a little too much like a set of steps, maybe if it was sloped out a little it would look more natural. You could also maybe add more snow to white out the front area before the tank as kind of gives the impression that another tank has been through there in exactly the same movement.
I like the whole winter feel for the dio and the weathered look of the tank and with the side hatch open you could incorporate a figure of some kind to give the scene some more life.
Best of luck with the rest of the dio and have a Merry Xmas,
Cheers,Shay

Great job on the tank. Looks really good. The only thing i would suggest is to change the title of your dio. Your panzer IV is an early model and probably wasn't used in the Ardennes. I geuss its possible (anything is) but highly unlikely. A "somewhere in Russia would be more likely in MHO.

Nicely done on the tank, this has great potential. I would have to agree with Art though, this tank is far too early to be a likely Ardennes candidate. Might be Ok for Stalingrad, in which case the "steps" could be worked to be real steps, might be a different slant on things. BTW what's that divisional sign? In the photos, it looks like the mailed fist of 17SS "Gotz V Berlichingen". This was a late war Panzergrenadier unit which I'm pretty sure didn't use this tank - it had Stugs instead, & wasn't in the Ardennes, though I think it took part in "Nordwind" shortly after.

Nice Panzer. small but it gets the point across of a Panzer left behind during the winter.
