Well there isn't much you can do to a 5 inch long flat black airplane, but here is Dragons 1/144 F117A of the 37th TFW as piloted by Col. Al Whitley.

I like it Tim! I've never modeled a 1/144 scale airplane model before - is there any detail in the cockpit or bomb bay? I've got a ruler out here on the desk and 5 inches seems pretty small...
I saw that movie with Steven Segal and Kurt Russell (Executive Decision - or something along those lines) with the pseudo-F117 they used to insert a Spec Forces team onto a B-747 last week. Would make an interesting conversion to do to a model like this...

Very nice finish on the canopy, how d'you do it so well, is it future and food colouring or the normal clear colours?

Gunnie, no real detail in the cockpit to speak of. The pilot is molded into a seated position and is just vaguely human shaped, so I just the paint the windows. The bomb bay has a little more detail in it, but not much. Here is a picture of the pilot from this model on top of a Tamiya paint jar (1/3 fl. oz.) for size reference.
Martin, I've been playing around with different techniques and I really liked this one a lot, It kind of looks like reflected sky on the glass. It's Tamiya Metallic Blue (it's fairly transparent) with a coat of Tamiya Metallic Gray to increase the opacity. Both are sprayed on the inside of the canopy. I think it might look better if I brushed on the Metallic Blue and backed it with white. That way the white could show through in the brush streaks looking more like clouds reflected in it.

Nice lookin'. You've got more patients than I with something that small. The Gloster Gladiator I'm working now is pushing the microscale limits for me...lol! Nice job.

Eek - that's small! I'm liking the idea you have of rendering a reflection effect on the canopy more and more after seeing that pic

This looked pretty good, Twisted. In my previous life of plane modelling I had done a bunch of 1/144 planes, I like them a lot. I remembered I had done a bunch of choppers, and also A^, F14, etc. The DML 1/144 Apache is very nice. good work!
