I managed to get a new pack of underweat, two screwdrivers , and a nice shirt!! The bill collectors decided we had to cut back this year
Bill collectors should be shot! LOL Them and the tax man! And Im not LOL'ing about him! I remember getting socks one year for christmas as a kid and nothing else. I wasnt bad or anything. My family just got hammered by bills and taxes and couldnt buy me anything else. I remember lieing to the other kids about what I got. It sucked. There should be a moratorium for taxes and bills between Dec and Jan!

My family stopped getting me models a long time ago. A friend showed up with a Dragon M1A1 AIM kit with all the IOF 3ID goodies.
I found a nifty feature on the forums called HIDE USER.
I was going to try it on myself and go stealth, but it only works on other users.

Tamiya Char B1 bis & German Mortar crew. Yes I did buy them myself while out shopping with SWMBO. I'd already bribed her with jewelry. Also the replacement tailpiece for my Norton Fastback arrived (1/1), I wasn't expecting it until the New Year (but that was really from my insurers LOL). I got socks from my parents! Also DVD set about WW2 battles - let's just say it's got a slightly German slant to it! Plus broken mirror & dented wing courtesy of White Van Man...

Well, I got some socks too.....
and also got "Armageddon: The Battle for Germany 1944 - 1945" by Max Hastings.
Its been a while since I've sat down and read a full book on WW2. I can't remember who long ago its been when I read "The Longest Day", "A Bridge Too Far" and "The Last Battle". So far this book has been a great read. I didn't realize that there have been some revisionist views of what all happened during the War. Guess I'll have to go back and check out his "Overlord" book as well.

no clothes, models, model related anything. Just some X-Box 360 games I had asked for and money. Both my Grandfathers served in WW2. One died 1998, the other (my Mom's Dad) apparently decided to start talking about it and other things while visiting my Aunt over Thanksgiving - they recorded it. I started listening to the CD yesterday morning while driving to work and continuing on this morning.

One of the members of the site, Robert Burnside (aka Alpenflage), sent me some 1/72 Dragon kits (T-34/76, T-34/85, JdPz IV, M4A3, SdKfz 251/1) for Christmas.
My wife bought one of those fancy all-in-one remotes that hook up to the computer and are programmed through the internet to control all the electronic devices (TV, VCR, DVD, CD, radio, etc.). Very nice, but more expensive than what I would have bought for myself.

A slight update to my christmas presents (which arrived Wednesday)......my dad decided he wasnt going to build anymore. Hes got Asbestosis and the fumes from paint and glue really bother him. So, he gave me his entire stash, plus paints, tools, etc. I now have 2 magnifying lamps, tons of model clips, two sets of micro drills for my pin vise, a new dremel, a miniature sabre saw (although I still dont know how to use it or where to put it), more model master paint then I could use in 5 years, and some interesting colors I dont think are even in production anymore, 2 sets of razor knives, maybe a dozen air models, a turn table, a paasch air brush, and more then I can list. I really wish he wouldnt give up the hobby, but I guess when your health is involved, you have no choice. I'll be saving all his built models as heirlooms for future children and grandchildren etc. So, while it was a lousy way of getting these things, they were really great gifts.
