Would these figures be suitable to use with a 2.2.2, in Normandy?
Any had any time with Allanger? Quality?

The Alanger figures I've had have been pretty good, but they've been of Red Army and NKVD troops, and have the same sculptor as Zvezda.
AFAIK there weren't that many Sd kfz 222 in Normandy, the only one I can remember seeing belonged to an SS Division.

Thanks for the quick reply David! Would they be suitable for crewing a 222?
What does AFAIK mean? Sorry for my limited knowledge!
Thanks,
Harry

AFAIK = As far as I know
Both of the sets you've shown are Heer rather than SS, so you'd have to mess about with the badges a bit, but otherwise the uniforms were pretty much the same. Dragon might have some other later war tank crews to look at too.
Such as these
Panzer troops
Presumably their piping would be copper brown instead of the pink of tank troops.
After a bit of thought, I believe the 222s were with the 17th SS Panzergrenadier Division, which had a rag-bag of equipment and faced the Americans.

Thanks!
I quite like the poses of the wounded guy and the man helping him - this will fit in perfectly with the idea I have.
As for there being limited 222s in Normandy, I'll have to apply some artistic lisence!
Harry
AFAIK - seems so obvoius now!

the second pic you show is the dragon set of panzer survivors which they credit to kursk but i am sure they can be used for normandy, and later.
just mix and match give a couple camoflaged uniforms or tops or trousers as all combinations were worn

those figures look surprisingly similar to the Revell kit.the quality of which was not all that bad.crisp details.Does anyone know if Alanger bought
the rights to these kits from Revell?

Alanger acquired most of the old ICM molds when that company ran into financial difficulty a few years ago. ICM has been revived as ICM Holding, but they have had to issue all-new kits.

Harry the Alanger ones are the old ICM moulds which aren't bad. You'll need to replace the heads as they're a bit crap but overall they're okay. They'd be okay for a 222 as the crews wore the panzer wrapover jackets. There are minor diferences between the Heer and SS panzer uniforms like pocket shapes etc but they're negligible at 1/35th.I've used a couple of the ICM/Alanger ones in my Caumont dio and they came out okay. The beauty of the wrapover jackets is you can do them in black/peas pattern/feldgrau as the pattern is fairly generic
