Hi Jeremy,

I know this campaign says desert yellow but does that also mean more of a faded sand yellow? Or sand??

For color example purposes:

I would have to refer you to Ralph on that one since he is the campaign leader and ultimately the one that makes the rules for this campaign.

Jeremy, thanks for stickying this thread.

RichardM, please stick to the yellow color or anything similar to it.

Emre, campaign officially ends at the 30th of June.

Gary, your tank would qualify since it's in yellowish shade.

I'm in. Don't know what I will build yet. I'll have to dig through the stash and see what's lurking in there.

I've signed up, but like Gary, don't yet know which kit I'll end up building. It may be an M548, an M923, a HEMTT, an M1A2 (or an M1A1!)... so many choices...

I am doing an Tamiya M113 with an Interior from the Revell M113 kit for right now. Unless I can get a hold of the M270 MLRS from Dragon, that I have been wanting to do with the PE sets.

For me this one is not going to be easy. If I manage to finish the construction part of my Dana in time, I will paint it yellow with Libian markings. It is unlikely that I will get to do it in time, but at least I will try hard. Good luck for evey participant.

Clever campaign idea indeed! I think i'll go for eitehr an M1114 Humvee or a 3ID M1A1, but knowing me it will probably change and i'll end up doing something totaly different.

Now I have finally decided to go for a DAK Tiger I in Tunesia in 1943.

You gotta love those HUGE red and white turret numbers. I am gonna go hunting for a kit in 1/35 and some after market stuff. It definently needs a turned alu barrel for that big 88mm.

When I have found what I need I will post a couple of pictures.....

OK I'm on. Don't know what to build but perhaps something Italian?
All I know is that it will be in 1/72 scale like this old build

it is a resin kit of an Italian L6/40 tankette.

I'm In

It'll either be a Quad and 25 Pounder, or a DAK panzer IV - not sure which yet.

Just to give a little teaser. This figure will be in my project :

And also a mule. Didn't decided what armour or vehicules will go along with my figures. I will tell you, I promise.
Question : what will happen to those who will ahve finished their entry in let's say 1 months...they will get bored during the 5 remainings months.. :-)
Best yellowish regards,
Julien

I was planning to build a Quad and 25 pounder for this, but my workbench was closed due to construction in my room.

So, while I was visiting a friend who's also a modeller this weekend, see what I stumbled upon:

This is the old Tamiya kit. When I fould it it was sitting in its box molested, my friend had "borrowed" lots of pieces for other projects and left the remainders as junk. To save this one, we hacked apart one of his own Sdfkz 222s, stole some parts from it, borrowed others parts from other kits and viola! This one came so far. It still needs more parts but I have another friend who can sacrifice another Sdkfz 222 for me luckily :-) Lucky me, this kit was so popular once upoun a time it seems!

I sprayed a Molak German Pale Yellow 1941 or something on it, my friend insisting that it was the right color. Problem is, I forgot to take the paint bottle from him. I will try Gunze's panzer colors and hope they match... Otherwise I might have to paint it all over again (and it was hell to paint over panzergrey parts we took from my friends old kit, jeez).

Now my room is "liveable" and my paint booth operational once again, I can give my attention to modelling after some time!

Here is my entry into the desert campaign. It will be the Zvezda Tiger I early. I have bought an Eduard turned alu barrel, Voyager smoke launchers, and an ACE PE set to get the most necessary details in PE.

For reference I have a number of books on the Tiger from Kagero, Squadron/Signal, Schiffer etc. However, the main one is the "Tiger in Action 1942-43" from Militaria.

I am planning to build one of the Tigers with BIG red/white turret numbers. They have always looked striking to me and the numbers make a nice contrast to the desert paint

Jesper,

Is that tiger a reboxed Italeri kit? Or is it a completely new one? Do you have any idea?

First I thought it was a reboxed Italeri kit as well. Now, I am not so sure.

Did the Italeri offering have an engine? It does not "feel" like an Italeri kit, but it could be one of the newer Italeri ones.

However, it looks good and I will keep you updated on how it comes together

Well, you could build another one if you like :-) :-) I for once had mine finished over the weekend. I just need to paint them this coming weekend and they're off to roll.

Hi Ralph,

In fact only the left figure will be part of my project. Both come from Dragon kit. The one on the right is omaha set and the left one comes from the fallschirmjager with donkeys set. I have redone in milliput the trouser, representing now a tropical trouser. The organic armor will come in time. I will also use ramcke brigade fallschirmjager and maybee Dak tristar set. It's a shame, I ve got so many idea for figures, but not a single one for armor or vehicules...
I try to post more images tonight.

Best,
Julien

Somewhere in one of my parts boxes I have all the pieces needed to make an 8th Army DV Sherman; Formations turret, Cromwell hull, Dragon Transmission cover and a choice of resicast, ABM or Formations suspension. I'll dig them out tonight and get started, unless my other half has something romantic planned for the day that's in it

It's been quiet around here. So how's everybody progressing? Do post in your inprog pics in this forum. I like to see them before they turn yellow.
