f1matt: you chose an awesome reference piece! The pieces of "art" really make it distinctive. Your model is coming along great. I can't wait to see the finished product.

All great entries in this Campaign I must say.
So is rover marking that tire as his own?

I love a dirty hummer in the morning.

But seriously Christer thats HMMWV turned out great. I really like the boxes of Sprite tucked away amongst the other gear.

Thanks, some small amount of MIG pigments can make modelling easier. Rover has made his marking: -He loves Firestone!

My CIP panels from eduard came through the door today, along with some masks for the windows. Now it's time to get more paint.
Will update tomorrow.

Some photos for you all.
I re-painted the humvee, weathered it a bit more and used the masks to create a kind of dusty windscreen.
I also did more work on the base, specifically the raised pavement and the crossing point.
Enjoy.

Boy she looks great Lucas. Makes me want to build even more modern armor. Did you use sequins for the vision blocks? They look really cool. A lot better than some blue or purple paint could ever look. Don't forget to paint the tools on rear deck too.

Great job, Lucas. A very realistic looking M113 with a nice "lived in" appearence with all the stowage.
A super entry in the campaign.

Lucas,
Thats a great effort on the M113 very nice
Also, take a look at this link on a Bradley someone has posted
on mmzone.
This is the best Bradley I have seen so far .
I might have to go back and do some corrections on mine .

Sorry I don't know how to make the link shorter

Should've, could've, would've is what I'm calling this. I did learn one thing ... don't try to build an ex-motorized kit into a static display!
The one thing you cannot change is the ride height. No spring sag what so ever! I built the turret first (second mistake) then the upper hull then added the wheels and found the horror all too late.
Almost tossed this out but realized it wasn't a contest just a participation and decided to shoot pictures where the treads cannot be seen.
I have a pretty high 'cringe factor' so here they are:

Well I ain't gonna make it in time for this one. Probably have another month of work left. Oh well. At least this campaign has kept me focused on getting my project done. And it will get done.

Well, here is my Bradley.
I found a picture of this same vehicle from the 3rd ID passing one of Sadam's Palaces on April 16th 2003. I took the interior from Tamiya's M2, and put it into their M2A2, added some slightly modified DML figures. I really liked this modern kit! And altough I need to finish my stash of WWII AFVs, I'll be adding a Warrior, Abrams and Stryker to it!
By reading some of the previous posts, I guess the Motorcycle was not actually used in OIF. I took pics, then took it off, and of course it ripped up some of the groundwork. So - no pictures of it off! Hopefully, you can overlook the motorcycle's inaccuracy in my dio (or just hold your thumb over it).

That looks really fantastic steve-o! The figures look very realistic and are posed very convincingly, the weathering is just the right amount on the Brad, great work on the interior and what did you use for the diorama platform?
I just hope my next campaign comes out as nice as yours did and I will pick a better candidate to use next time too!
Great job!

Thanks a bunch Jeff!
I was really happy with the Bradley. The figures, I want to get better at faces, and should replace the colored flags with the camo version.
The base is just a slab of wood with the edges trimmed from Hobby Lobby. I use them all the time. It's a cheap, easy base. And I score up the top of it so that the plaster street won't slide off of it.

I was looking through your profile pics, and where did you get that ACV-57?? It's on my list, but I have not found it anywhere! Can't wait to see yours done!

I bought the kit back when I started back modeling. This kit has so many flaws, bubbles, mold misalignments and of course little bity individual track links that look like they are 1/72 scale. I did start on it but decided to put it back and go back to it when I got the courage to do those links ... and a lot of correcting. It was on sale at a local hobby store that eventually went out of business.
I'm sure if you look hard enough at some of the shops across the pond it can be found. Don't get your hopes up too high for it is a dog to even look at. The spues are not even molded with the part numbers, just on the instruction sheet, which just shows their location in just a few drawings.
I'm glad you brought that up. I might dig it out and finish it!
Jeff
