SIR!

ive just finished building my new base for my new dio. 90% made from household stuffs. This proves that, we can use anything we can fget our hands on arround us and start building something.

Well, unlike before, this time i try using only flower foam for the base(from my moms store room)
some real sand, (from her garden)
and some amount of broom bristles(also hers)
and well of course white pva glue or polystyrene glue(mine)
with some brown lichen from my spare box.(hornby railway scenic and its mine)

I just stick the Foam on an old frme and start spraying some large amount of mixed PVA glue with water. (50/50)
then sprinkled some sand on it and leave it for a day. I repeated puting the glue and sand and leave it for another day.
Next, airbrushed it with a mixed layer of black, brown and khaki.
leave it for two or three hours (i cant wait to start puting the grass on) and i started to cut some bristles from the broom. then glue it in a hole that i make for it .
Concerning that i am running out of static grass(cannot find it anywhere in MALAYSIA now)
I decided to cut more broom britsles smaller enuff so that it looks like grass. Well, its seems okay to me..hehe.

And this is what i got, only three days and wallahhh

:-) :-)

Sicktunez

That`s a lovely base you`ve created there. Isn`t making as much as possible the coolest thing on earth. At least I think so. When you make things yourself you have to go for real creativity. and that`s what your dio shows. great job

What kinda dio is it going to be???

Well, the idea is to put my repainted german infantry walking somewhere in CAEN.
The figures are from my old diorama (see sicktunezbasicdiorama at MSN)

Ive repainted it and soon be ready to be in the diorama.
MMM, one question, DO Hitler Jugen troops in Caen use hooded camo smock?

I think it is outstanding. Anyone can buy a bunch of stuff and throw it at a slab of plywood. I love it.

Hiya sicktunez...And from this day on I will look at flower-foam with different eyes. Thank you very much for sharing it with us! By the way, how did you make the barbed-wire?

All the best, John.

Good Job man, I like it. Any chance of more detail on the trees from the Lichen stuff. I want to make a "hedgerow" type thing and thought of lichen, but not sure of the details.

I'd like to hear about your "repainting" efforts... this could be an interesting topic!
