Hi all.
By no means a criticism but I had to laugh when I opened Armorama to see an ad for a matrimonial company. Does this reflect on the perceived personality types that build scale models or the types that frequent Armorama?
Cheers
Shane

Nah, been married for almost 15 years and have six (yes, 6) children. I think it is to direct us old and graying modelers towards services to marry off our now adult children!

Where did you see the ad? I looked but didnt see it. Hey, I may be able to trade mine in on a newer model with less miles LOL :-)

It's the Google adspace that only shows up on the latest posts page (bottom right). I think some of the stuff that shows up there is rather hysterical. There was the gravestone one which actually bugged me to the point of specifying that it not show up anymore. :-)

Gad I hope my wife doesn't see that ad. Not that she ever goes on this site. She's been driving me absolutely nuts lately with her big plans in celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary with a 2nd ceremony. Every day its "Honey, do you want candles on the table" etc, etc, etc, ad nausum. I almost cured her of it the other day when she asked me what colors I wanted for the ceremony. "Olive drab and gunmetal?" (Boy did I get punched for that one.)
The only good thing is she wants to go to Disneyland for our 2nd Honeymoon. I've just about got her convinced to have the ceremony on our anniversary, in May, but to have are vacation in August, because of the deals the IPMS Nationals is giving for D land.

Gravestones and Marriage, is there some sort of subliminal message here? :-) :-)

I'm married with 3 grown kids - so it's all about keeping your hobby in perspective- I would argue that modelbuilders stay at home more so they may make better spouses than those who are out tomcatting around!

Not for me, thanks. Then I'd have to go through the whole wife in menopause thing all over again. Then there would be a need for a gravestone supplier. :-)

Remember, you lose at least half on the trade in as well :-) :-) :-)
Yes, I know from experience.

I agree wholeheartedly!! (least wise that's what I tell my wife when I want to buy more kits)
And I kinda liked the tombstone ad

I heard my wife use this very same explanation on someone who was commenting on my stash of models. It was the first time I ever heard her use a kind word in discussing my impulse model buying. I knew I was safe after that. :-) :-) :-)

Marriage should be like joining the military. After your four year enlistmant is up, you can either re-up or get out.

Hell, fellas, I'm lucky... my wife's just glad I've found a hobby to keep me out of her hair!

Don't know if anyone has noticed the new interesting one, the "Real Age Test". I took it and well, lets say, I didn't pass with flying colors.

I don't get adverts like that
All i've got is resin&1:35 and stuff.
However, on the Glasgow Parkour forums, (parkour is a discipline for those of you who are wondering, www.glasgowparkour.co.uk ) google takes the most obscure word it can find on the forums and searches it.
We get all sorts, from health&fitness to marry your neighbours dog.

I hear you. My wife wanted to "renew" our vows when we went to Hawaii in Feruary for our anniversary. When she asked me if I'ld marrt her again I told her "yes, but I want some things in writing first"

Ron I tip my hat to you. Been married 18 years with 5 kids. Looks like we may never be able to retire...
