Overall it looks quite good. The scene is very believable and busy.
Some of the very small details can make it look even better. Things like turning the grenades around so the handles are facing the soldiers. If you need those things you want the handle towards you. Also easy access/exit to the MG site, move the ammo boxes so they can get in and out.
Also in the workshop area try to give the items weight by nudging them down in the gravel a bit. They seem to be On Top of the gravel a bit to much.

Just go back over the photos and ask yourself "does that make sense for the guy in the diorama?"

Nice nice ambitious project. One minor suggestion that may help tie things together: The crew on "Loki" have their shirt sleeves rolled up while the guy checking his watch in front of the train station has a parka on.
Again, just a minor nit pick.
Great job and thanks for sharing the pictures.

I know Shaun, it has annoyed me from the beginning until one of the armour specialists in our club pointed out that at at times, in that region, soldiers could have stripped off heavy clothing while doing manual labour but others standing around doing nothing, stayed rugged up.
On another note concerning the dio, I've decided to double the size by adding another base next to it which will contain the Dora. The scene might not be technically correct, but at least the uninformed will be able to see some of the reason/ instuments that flattened Savastopol during WW2.

Out of curiosity, what's the difference between a rail yard and a rail head?

'Rail head' is a military term, used in the same sort of context as 'air head' for an airborne operation or 'bridge head' for a river crossing. It may not be the physical end of the line, but will be the point at which troops or materiel will be offloaded to another mode of transport for onward travel.

I'm not at all sure, but I think it might be called a Rail Point Of Disembarkation (RPOD) in modern parlance, in much the same way that ports are called SPODs and airports/airfields APODs.

Great to see this project move along. Those buildings are really nicely made with lots of details.

It will be stunning when finished!
