Several hundred new rivets

Very, very nice work Mark. I really respect all the additions you added to the kit. I can't wait to see it painted up - should bring out all the "extras".
Please keep us posted.

Mark,
I have always like your work... but this time, I'd have to say that you have really outdone yourself. This model has really been taken to a new level. The total absence of aftermarket stuff also shows what is possible with some tools and some sheet plastic.
Later,
Tim

Normally, I would buy some photoetch and leave it at that, but this kit really allowed for some simple scratchbuilding.
I really look at this kit as a lesson learned. Normally, I wouldn't buy two of anything from Italeri, but I would really like to get another one of these (Probably the next issue, which comes with the Howitzer) and get the Eduard set, as it includes some neat things, and scratchbuild a few more items (as per the article in the current Tamiya magazine).

Great poke at this forum's name,RIVET REVIEW.
Ok, I REVIEWED the rivet job.Very nice.Did you slice and dice them all?
Are you going to fill in those holes in the side ribs for a war era DUKW?

It's kind of tough to tell in the photos, but the drain holes in the side ribbing is filled in already.
I'm hoping to get some time this week to start painting. I'd like to at least post-shade it. I'll be going with a standard olive-drab. As I think I'll end up getting another one of these, I'll probably paint the next one in the three tone camo pattern.

I will also be adding the Italeri Howitzer as stowage (waiting on mail).
How about a step-by-step article on the howitzer. I am a fanatic for artillery guns and would love to see how the Italeri kit builds up.
I will be putting together a Tamiya 25 pdr. next week (SPRING BREAK #:-) #:-) ) and will right up a review and article on it.
Keep us posted!

Mark,
your DUKW looks great! You have definatly put the extra effort into this subject. I can't wait to see this fininshed. I may have to get one of these kits. Keep up the good work.
