Hey Reef, That is a superb start
What are you using for the zimmerit? Is it Zimm-it-rite?
And if it is, how are you applying it?
Keep me posted...and the rest of us of course #:-)

Very good start so far ..Are you planning to make it into a late or a final version? Did you make the zimmerit yourself or is it Cavalier, which ever it looks good...I'm never sure about adding zimmerit to the flat front of the tiger ...I know there are pictures out there but seem to be fewer with than without...Have you got an idea on which unit ? Keep up the great work.

Hi Jeff ...No such luck finding a late at Kursk...Even at this time Das Reich only had a few Tigers..(I think they had 13 at the time of Zitadelle) They did recieve some of the Leibstandarte Tigers after that Unit was transfered to Italy . (all earlies too) As for Das Reich ever having late Tigers ,I dought it very much as by that time the heavy companies were switched over to s.SS-Pz-Abt102(502) Even then the only pictures of the SS 102 shows final production Tigers. The only SS division that recieved lates(could be finals too) seems to be Totenkopt and these became the s.SS-pz-Abt 103 very soon after . Well hope this helps a bit...

Aquired a set of Atak zim for the Panther A want to see difference in them.Oh I did find a human hair on the backside but no way to remove it so latter maybe we can get somebodies DNA and clone them

Field Marshall,
No Late in Kursk of the SS formations. if you need I can copy some pictures of the SS tiger batallion for Das Reich through out the war for you from my Tiger on East front/Tiger on west front books.
Das Reich tigers are just too cool!

This has the making of a superb Tiger. The cavalier zimmerit looks so good. With the mister surfacer on top and the colour of the zimmerit, I thought you had made it from putty to start off with. I was well impressed ... but still am. I have bought my tiger exactly one year ago and have not attempted it yet! I have bought the cavalier option also, so hopefully mines turns out as good. Good luck with the rest!

Well to answer your question sorry if I miss leading but I tried the putty trick on some sheet did not like it , seems putty always tore away from sheet. So decided that more practice was in order but not now. I know your model will be great Plasticbattle!!!
Ronald it is kit roof with a stippled coat of Mister Surfacer 500 jar type applied.
thanks again and build a Tiger Today great model to have in your collections Early one next for me no Zim.

Hi Jeff ...Things are coming along nicely....Keep up the good work..Next time you try putty for zimmerit give the plastic a bit of a sanding before spreading the putty it might help to give it some bite. So have you figured out what markings you will use? Another tiger right after this one !! Ambitious! I started the Academy Early Tiger with interior ...I don't know if was just me but nothing seemed to fit really well...So I bought a Tamiya!! lol (have you tried to put the 2 sides of the turret together with the roof?AARRRGGGHH!!!)...I'll get to it soon...so many projects so little time .
