I need some informations about the Tamiya #35197 Sturmgeschutz III Ausf G Assault Gun. Is it a recent kit? Good overall quality? All your comments will be very appreciated.

Very good kit. The best thing I like about this one is the option you have to build it either as a 75mm gun one, or the StuH 42, with the 105 mm gun.

Excellent kit. It was the first more expensive kit I bought and itīs certainly worth the extra $.
Details are crisp, fitting is good, there is very little to clean. It comes with vinyl tracks (not bad) and some string for cables. You need some kind of PE set for that, though. Grilles are not included in the package.
I really hope they would make that clear in the cover if the kit doesnīt include all necessary parts...
Itīs great fun to build.

I agree with all of the above. I got some Elefant grilles on clearance for mine and also used some Royal Model tool brackets. The kit does come with string to use for the tow cables, which is handy, but I recommend going over it with thinned glue once it is in place to keep the fibres down. I'm going to put this StuG on the trailer for my Famo.

I've got this kit and it looks really good. I also got the Tamiya PE set for it that just adds grills. I don't know why they just don't include the grill set with the kit like they do with their T-72M1. Grill set cost me more than the kit, I paid $8 for the grill and traded a couple of $4.99 AMT aircraft kits for the StuG (P-70 and P-40). Looks to be an easy build.

I have to agree with the others, this is a great kit. I really can't compare it to other WW2 era kits (I've only built 2 of them), but it was a nice build and went together without any major problems. Detail is excellent.

As the others have said here, the kit is fantastic. I to feel the kit is molded well and has some great detail. At a minimum I recommend you buy the Tamiya PE grill set that Sabot mentioned. I am working on one myself and I will be using the Tamiya PE grill set along with the Cavalier zimmerit that I have reviewed in ther armor "Reviews" section.

Iīve built this kit in the year 2000. It was my first experience in German armor. Itīs a very good kit, perfect fit and fine detail. I finished it with the 105mm gun, painted the three colour scheme and placed in a dio representing a vehicle of the 303rd Stug Brigade in Hungary early 1945. If your thinking in buying it donīt doubt, go and get it.

The Tamiya Stug III G is the best plastic kit of this vehicle available, without exception. It even looks good with the kit tracks. About the only aftermarket parts needed are the screen covers for the engine intakes and Tamiya makes a set designed to fit the model perfectly. This kit is a must have. :-)
