I don't know what you did to the site but the pages load so slow now that I don't like to come here anymore. I am on a high speed connection. It has become very frustrating, I like this site but I hate the slowness of it now. What happened?

For me it loads a whole lot faster than it has been for the last couple months since the software update. With 30 people on it takes 5-7 seconds for a page to load, but when no one is on it is split second.
I know Jim was trying out some new software that was supposed to help, so he added a few things back he had deleted like the recon photo and the front gate. Apparently it isn't a "magic bullet" but it has helped some for most, but not all. Don't worry too much, Azizmaz, Jim is hoping to have the new server up and in the testing phase within a few short weeks, then all our problems will be solved, hopefully.

Well Rob, you and I are only a few miles apart and both have Road Runner. My pages load significantly slower today than they did yesterday. I am curious why it has helped some and not others.

The site was running very slow today (yesterday). I have reset some of the server config settings back to the more conservative settings I had them on before. Perhaps that is why the site ran out of memory and slowed to a crawl. With 30 active users on it's running pretty quick at this hour (12:41am PST).
I think we are seeing such a slowdown during the day (north america time) because it's a shared server and there are likely other large sites sucking up the servers memory during the day. Another good reason to go to a dedicated server I guess.
Cheers,
Jim

we all have slow downloads in time, but i really dont understand how you think to leave your friends here for slow downloads...we are a family here and slow or stopped downloads can not destroy that.
