I have a small fortune invested in VLS US WW II tank crewmen and other figures. The major challenge is to ensure the seam between the arm and torso (or any other area) is filled and yet does not spoil the overall look of the uniform. Nothing seems to work. I used sand papers to smooth the joints prior to gluing along with various fillers. I followed the nail polish remover technique to remove excess putty. Just does not look right. Can you suggest some steps that you take to avoid this problem?
thanks

I use Mr Surfacer 500.
Put it on, take a dampened q-tip (I use lacquer thinner) and wipe off, repeat as needed. Works great on resin and metal figures.

Ditto to what Dave says. Also might consider plain ol' white glue. Just build it up until the seam disappears. "Q"

Hi There,
I find Aves Epoxy the best once the gap is filled I use a wet qtip to clean up and then lightly sand when its dry.
Cheers

Ray, I'll have to give your method a try also.

I use vinyl spackle filler. Brush it in with a 3-0 brush, smooth it in with a water dampened 3-0 and repeat as needed. Prime when happy or wash out and start over.
cheers!

Ray/Rick-- thanks for the suggestions. Certainly worth trying given my past dismal record.
