Hi Henk,

Just a question on the voting. Can we vote in Intermediate and the Advanced section or is it only one vote for the whole competition? My reading of the rules would make me think I can only vote once but there are two/three different entry levels.

What or who decides if a model is for the intermediate or advanced category?

The person entering the contest indicates what class they want to compete in, and also which image they want to enter in the competition. As the contest includes both the actual model (built, paint, finish) and the photographic presentation, any picture entered will be uploaded to the gallery as it is submitted.

Hello, I voted in beginner/intermediate class.

can I vote in advanced class? I have a entry there. are there other rules?

I think the two class system is great also.

When you've got models as nice as these,the
one picture only sure makes it tough,even Miss World
turns around and shows us the back side.

My votes are in, to be honest i saw little or no difference in the quality of either class. Great work all who entered.

Love the classes! I like the 'Anonymous' photo upload even more. It minimizes the 'boetie-boetie' (loosely translated to 'buddy-buddy') votes. Excellent!!

I'd like to commend all the contestants for their excellent photography as well. Someone mentioned that they'd like to see more angles of the pieces... why not just do composite photos then? I'm not sure if AMOM allows it, but HF's SFOTM also has the one photo rule and we allow composite photos there... naturally that is to the advantage of the contestant then, but let's face it, this is as much about (photo) presentation as it is about the model...

Yes, you can vote in both classes. You can't vote for your own entry though. Not that you would, but the system will not allow that.



That is down to the entries. The entrants indicate which class they like to compete in. Unless an obvious Advanced model tries to enter in the Beginners/Intermediate class, Editors will not make judgement on that.
The 'lack' of difference is I think down to a lack of knowledge of the different classes we now use. I hope that going forward that we will attract more 'Beginners', who are now probably weary to enter against the high standard of the contest.



For now we will leave it at one picture only. The composite pictures are a very nice idea, but probably better suited to a smaller subject like a figure, than the bulk of a 60 ton Tiger... . Something to look into though.

I'm afraid that the system allows it. Just to check I voted on my own entry and cleared the vote afterwards.
This may be due to the fact that the pictures are uploaded as Anonymous.
Unless you do a manual check at the end of the vote and discard the ones that were done by the model's author, the system is allowing the builder to vote on it's own model.
I wont vote on my model I promise, although I think it's the best

Can someone please take a moment to explain to this clueless noob how exactly to use this infuriatingly overcomplicated site?

When I click on the link above to view the pictures it takes me to the page full of pictures.

When I click on one of the pictures to enlarge it, instead of getting an enlarged picture I get a reminder that I need to log in ALL OVER AGAIN just to view the enlarged picture. When I click on the "log-in" link it takes me to a log in page. After logging in, instead of taking back to where I was and allowing me access to the enlarged picture I am instead shunted to a "personal page" which means I might as well be lost in cyber space because I now have no clue how to get back from this "personal page" to the picture I was trying to view since I got to the picture in the first place through a link.

Forcing some one to log in all over again, when they are ALREADY LOGGED IN, is stupid enough, but shunting them off to some unkown location after they go through the hassle of logging in again is patently idiotic. The absolute least that should be done is to return them to the location they were at when the additional log in was forced upon them.

I thought all the entries had posts in the forums with several pictures of their submission to aid in making a decision, I understand that this will kind of mess up the anonymous part. Or was that in the past?
