Maybe looks a poor release, but there are good models, specially the french renault. Usually you must buy it with european manufactures of regular or bad quality.
I want wespe, marders, nashorn, hummel in 1/48 scale.

As Tamiya have chosen to go in a direction that DML, Trumpeter, etc won't be competing against them in they can take their time and get this right. I'll get one at least anyway

I'm personally happy to see the little Renault, and will surely pick one up.
I believe that duce and a half is 1/48th, and that is sure to be a win win for them as every quarter scale vehicle builder will get one, plus those "wing ding" guys. Again a good profitable idea for them. May even convince me to try a 1/48th vehicle.

Interesting, a lot where captured by germany and use both in captured countries and on the eastern front as tractors for PAK 3,7 - lots of opertunities for dioramas.

That little Renault is certainly going outside the box. Who knows French items might be a good way for Tamiya to go.
That Duce n a half could almost make me try a 1/48 kit. It looks very nice.

I like their 1/48 stuff, especially the deuce and 1/2. I was just hoping for something really special in 1/35 this year

I think if they wanted to "go French" a nice R-35 would be a much better choice. Right now, the only option is the ancient Heller kit which is okay, but needs a lot of work to make "good". And I think armor modelers would much prefer a tank over a tractor, especially when a few eastern european countries already make this kit (RPM?). An R35 with the same extra figures would probably do really well, especially since the Germans used them a lot, pleasing the Axis folks as well.

That Renault tractor got as much, if not more, mileage as an Axis vehicle than it ever got as an allied one. There are a plethora of uses the Germans put them to. I agree that it's a good release.

It's weird, I HATE it, but then I kind of like it because its a unique little vehicle that could be fun to build!
Hey, I say god bless them. As long as they don't put out "another" M113 with the same mold as the early 70's with a new sprue or 2 and a price thats doubled, I'm okay with it.
I still think DML, AFV and some other new guys to come along blow away the old former giant today, but this could spark a little interest me.

Hey, as long as tamiya is making an effort to expand into strange/ a-typical areas in 1/35, its fine by me. Who knows, they might try to bring out some polish stuff too ^_^

I heard a rumor before that it will be small and French, so I hoped for VBL. But this?....
Oh, well... I'm sure many people are going to be happy. I couldn't care less...

At least it's not another german mockup model (7.5cm Stu.Kan.Auf Pz.Kpfw.38(t)) or 2 vehicles production (Dicker Max and Stuer Emil)
As soon as an AM producer put out the German 37mm conversion kit and the 28/32cm Wurfrahmen rocket launcher conversion every single little germanhaolic will be over it
... Running for cover ...

I actually think the new UE tractor could be rather cool. Immediately I thought of the 501 Tigers depicted in the Restayn Tiger book after they overran a French unit in Tunisia. There are a couple of the UE tractors shown abandoned. Could make a cool diorama with my C-H DAK Tiger.

Not being a really big fan of tiny french stuff, it IS kinda cool. I agree with the comments about the bizzare-o one off or two off production run vehicles. I think that is grasping at straws. Some completely re-tooled classic kits would be nice in 1/35, but I am looking forward to see what the next quarter scale releases will be....

Personally, I'm glad that Tamiya is branching out! It's about time that the model companies stopped making the "Mid-Late-Early-Designed-On-A-Napkin-During-Happy-Hour-Prototype" Panther. But that's just me. I like the little Renault! It probably won't cost too much, which puts it into my price range! Thanks for your time and link!

Hey guys...
I started another thread about this without knowing this was already going on.
I think it's excellent. Everyone's always complaining about not having anyone or anything non-German to put into a diorama.
HERE'S YOUR CHANCE to fix that. Tamiya's new direction may be just what they need to get back into the 1/35 game.
I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Small and a little dissapointing....but I will get this because I built the Char B1 bis and loved it. I will do this kit because it will be a good compliment to the Char B1 and its french and unusual.
I hope there is another French subject coming soon after - hopefully a tank............and more soldiers
Like others I will pick this up before the dicker majigy or stu.zuka thingy one off subjects from DML......Lots of room for mainstream subjects and updates of outdated classics.

Oh well, so much for my hopes of a Merkava Mk. IV in plastic. I'm glad I have the Legends resin kit to keep me busy for another month or two, (or three, or four... )
I hope the guys who are happy with this upcoming release will enjoy it, it just doesn't do much for me.

I for one am glad Tamiya is doing that UE tractor IMO,it seems that other kit makers only make obscure, prototype stuff if it's W.W.2 German I am sure it'll have German decals Makes sense seeing as how Germany used them
If Tamiya is smart, they'll release it in 1/48 AFAIK,the Luftwaffe used them on airfields That 1/48 GMC will be great
Thank you Tamiya for having the courage to make an obscure 1/35 French vehicle
