I plan on building this Miniart building with the Soviet 57mm Antitank gun inside with the barell pointing out the front door.. like an ambush type of thing. Anyway, my question is what would the floor of such a building be like? Any opinions appreciated.

Disclaimer : This pic is not my work, ofcourse!!!

Thoughts. Stone, dirt, concrete but I don't think wood would be great. Just as a consideration to the artillery piece the floor needs to look as though it would take the weight and pressure of the recoil.

hope that helps

Rough earth would apply too.

Beaten earth or stone are the most likely IMHO. in addition, the brick used in the construction suggests to me that there isn't much building stone to be had, making beaten earth the most likely.

I would go with beaten/stamped earth or stone. I do not think concrete would have been used for a building like this.

Looking forward to see more when your project progresses

defenitely wooden blooks but very aged and dusty. I've seen some of the old soviet houses and from what I've seen this is the most typical surface. Some of them had the wooden floors painted semi-glossy dark brown. Large yard storages which most people had at the time had concrete cement floors with rough/unsmooth surface and also very dirty most of the time. Hope this helps.

Thanks for everyone's input.

I don't think I'll be going with wood simply because, like Paul said, it wouldn't withstand the weight and recoil of the gun.

I guess rough concrete would be easy to simulate using plaser.. with some loose hay and earth on top of it.

I'll post some pics as soon as I get something tangible done.

Thanks again.
