A couple of weeks ago, knowing that he was going to that modeller's paradise - the AMPS show, I asked Dave O'Meara (Grumpyoldman) if he could pick me up a set of wheels for the DML M2 H/T.
This morning, the mail arrived with a small cardboard box. Not only did Dave send me a set of wheels, he also included the Tank Workshop update set for the M2, a set of Archer transfers for the dashboard guages but also a couple of CD-Roms of images of AMPS and APG.
To say i'm touched is a gross understatement.
It gave me a real boost - more than anything as it indicates that the sense of community (which many thought had left the site for ever) is still alive and well and in the hands of people like Dave.
I just know your going to hate this Dave - but to give credit where credit is due - thanks Dave

I'll second that!!!!
A while back I enquired about a particular item which is not available in Africa... lo and behold a few weeks later I get a "help package" from a certain grumpy old New Jersey man containing the item I enquired about plus a few extra bits and bobs...
Thanks again Dave!!!!
Rudi
p.s. I still love to play that foot tapping "toe" song whenever I need a pick-me-up! ROFL

Add one more kudo to the grumpy one. I spent some time with Dave at Noreastcon on Saturday. As he was leaving he gave me his raffle tickets. Turns out there were two winners there. As a result, my travelling companion and I both got an Apoxie sample.
Thanks, Dave.
Thanks, Dave.

I think theres a lot of people - me included - that have felt Daves generosity. He is - if any - the heart and soul for a great community!

Me too! Me too!
Dave has been very generous over the years. If he keeps this up we will have to force a username change on him. Hmmm.... Sweetoldman?
Cheers,
Jim

I can't tell how much Dave has contributed to me and my family. Really! He told me not to when I asked him if I could do a "Good Guy Alert" about him. The guy said "No, Murphy, you just put what I've offered to good work and that's enough!" Humble to boot!
Well, Davy ole' buddy, I never said I wouldn't heap Kudos if someone ELSE did a "Good Guy Alert" on ya!
