Hi, I'm just about to do my first diorama which is going to feature a German infantry group being protected by a Panzer III in a street scene (walls/other features etc. etc.). Biggie question here is, should the soldiers uniforms be in a fairly dark green or German gray, I'm tempted to go with the German gray but don't want to make a real screw up by painting the uniforms all wrong only to find out just as I finish the damned thing!!
Any hints or tips (?) would be appreciated.
Cheers

Definitely not dark green. You need German Field Grey, many manufacturers offer this colour, but I prefer to mix my own, as the colour varied widely & it's unrealistic for a group of soldiers to be in exactly the same shade. It can vary with wear & age from a warm grey-green to almost a greyish khaki colour.

Hi mate, I would suggest that if its German infantry group in a street, I would do their helmets a kind of field grey base coat and then add spots of brown and yellow to look like dust and such, same with the uniforms as well. Hope this helps
