Okay guys,
In my first post, everyone pretty much said I needed to weather my tanks.
I decided to do an aggresive weathering job on my current project, an old Italiera Panther D.
I know the pictures aren't that great and the tank really looks much better in person, but what can you expect from a "cheapy" DigiCam..
BTW, this is the first tank that I have ever "completely" airbrushed with NO brushing at all.

So, tell me what you think..

Excellent work hworth18!

I'm also working on my first airbrushed tanks and It's turning pretty good as well. I still have to do the tracks though... How did you doing your rust streaks?

Rich, I used a thinned (70%alchohol-30% paint), red brown paint with the fine-tip airbrush on about 15psi. I then shot a VERY thinned coat of dark yellow over it which faded it pretty good.
I wish I had better pics of it, because it turned out great, and probably the best one I have done so far.
Thanks everyone for the good replies.

Thanks! I think I'll try that sometime on another tank. Unfortunately, I can't do it on my current Panther becuase it has too many shades of colours and layers of paint for that method.

I think it's time for a new digital camera for myself as well. My cruddy webcam just can't pick up the fine details and pigments of the paint. And who said this hobby was a cheap one?

Really good looking weathering dude

I like it.. The small details as the ruststreaks are often a very good thing to add.
Congrats dude a very well weathered tank

I love the road wheels. They are great. Overall workmanship is wonderful.

One question, cuz I don't know, on the two hatches on the turret. The dripping under them, is that from water coming from the drip cover above the hatch, or from something else spilling? I ask because if it's water from the drip cover you may want to extend the rusty/brown color up a bit. This is only a thought that popped to mind. I have no basis other than personal imagery (which with every year is getting worse ).
Don't missunderstand me- the affect is wonderfully done.

Keep up the good work.

Looks good , I really like the road wheels... nice!
Just one question, nit pick really #:-)

Should the air intakes on the rear deck be so dark? There isn't anything coming from them is there? The two round ones suck air in, don't they? And maybe show more wear and be lighter? (If I'm wrong, let me know :-) cause I'm not 100% sure about this... ) Meanwhile, you did a very nice job of rusting the exhaust pipes, but didn't leave any smoke stained areas. You may want to darken the ends of those pipes and the deck/hull adjacent to them.

Looks good

Very nice. I'm not expert on German armor but this one LOOKS right and that's what counts to me. I have the Tamiya Panther to make to tow behind my Dragon Wagon and I hope I do half as good a job as you did here.

I'm not an expert in german armour, the overall model looks nice, the only one doubt I've got is about the upper hull, all that black on the grids looks to me a bit overdone, but I repeat I'm not an expert in the specific field...

Looking good. When the tools and a little stowage are added, this will bring it all together better. It looks a little bare just now. But thats to be expected.
