Jesper- sorry that didn't turn out how you wanted it. If it's not too late you could use a mix of 1 part Woodland Scenics snow powder 1/2 water 1/2 glue. It worked great for me and came out looking even better I think! I don't know if you can get it in Europe but you could order it and it really lasts forever. Great stuff.

The kit that I bought earlier is a mix of several companies. The majority being Alan? I have never heard of it but it looks pretty good. I anticipate much use of putty and sanding but for $5 I really could care less. The box is MIA so I am going from what I see on the sprews. I don't know who made the PE and such that is all cut from the sprews in little bags. I have done my best to match and mark the pieces to the directions to make it easier on me.

Thanks for the tip, Mike. I will try to track down some snow powder. I will not get my hands on it for this build, but I think it will come in useful for the whitewash campaign.

Your kit sounds very interesting. I am looking forward to hear and see more, when the construction gets underway.

I have now finished my 1/72 UM OT-34 for this campaign. A really nice kit with good details.
I had some problems along the way with the snow on the tracks. However, I was able to save most of it and at the same time get some good experience for the whitewashed campaign starting later this year.

It was a joy to participate in this campaign.

Pictures coming up....

Jesper, that's a nice T-34, good work! With your completion within 22 days, you are the first and seemingly the fastest The snow still looks a little overdone but overall, it looks fine.

I haven't been able to keep track much for the last two weeks, as the power supply of my computer decided to "quit its job", so to speak. I am still waiting for the replacement part under warranty. In addition to my troubles, dad mistakenly took my camera away last week and he won't be back till tomorrow, so no progress shots of my Flammpanzer II yet.

I am hoping things will be straightened out this week when my dad comes back with my camera and they finally fix my computer... Till then, work on those flamethrower kits people!

Thanks Emre, I am also quite satisfied. However, I think you are right about the snow. I improved it after the first try, but especially on the rear wheels it got a little heavy. On my 1/35 Leopard 1 tank for the white wash campaign I am sure it will look just right.

Recently I have made a lot of progress on various builds. They seem to fly together - without doubt helped by the lower number of parts for 1/72 models.

Looking forward to see more flame panzers

Dooh!

I just managed to put my newly aquired Churchill Crocodile, from Tamiya, together before seeing the "Flame" campaign.
Can i still take part in it although my Crocodile is put together ? ( I have no photos of the build process)

But.......i have yet to paint and weather it.

Best regards

Hi Christian

As long as you started building after 1st August when the campaign started there should be no problems.
It is not required to post "in-progress" pictures although it is incouraged to share your work. So I see no problems about you entering the campaign with your Churchill if you started it after 1st August.

However, Emre is the campaign leader so he will have the final word in this.

How did it build up? Any pre-painting pictures?

Hi Christian,

As Jesper stated, when did you start building your tank? The campaign launched on August 1, so if you started your build after that, you can readily join the campaign. If, on August 1, your model was "mildly started", that is also generally accepted. However if you put your model together before August 1, well, that may be a problem.

No worries about pre-paint photos, however, I would be glad if you can post photos at this stage and some WIP photos before the final product.

Hope we can welcome you abroad!

It built up quite nicely infact. And, yes, the pre-paint pics will be up shortly.
Btw - I like the looks of your OT-34, Jesper!

I Started building it Aug-16 so i guess that" qualifies" me.
Pre-painting pics will, indeed, be up shortly. And i´ll continue to take photos of the WIP, or should i say PIP ( painting in progress) from here on.

It´s officiall...IM IN

I'm glad to welcome you on board Christian! You definitely qualify

Now let's see those pics already! Which reminds me, I should take pictures of my own pitiful entry (I just had an anger attack because of a misfit.... and I broke it altogether.... should make repairs).

Looks good, Christian. I am looking forward to see it with some camouflage.

Great picture from the net. To make the diorama you would need a looooot of mud Could be an interesting challenge though....

I am getting excited about this one. I just got my Dragon SK251 in the mail this week. It is sitting at my work bench waiting for me to finish off the Chiefton MkV I have been working on.

Hi guys,
I have a question for you gents. Does your entry for this contest have to be a new build? Reason I ask is that I have a shelf queen (not finished) M4A3 HVSS POA-CWS-H5 that I would like to enter. This will give me the motivation to pull it off the shelf and finish it. Let me know what you think.

Hi Don!

It will depend on just how close to finish your tank is. If it is already built, painted or just waiting for weathering, it would be inconvenient to let you participate because it will be unfair for the people who will have to start and finish within the given deadline, as all campaigns require. We can make an exception if you haven't made much progress with it. Can you post pictures so that we can decide?

I think what he meant is a SDFKZ 251, rather than a SK251. The kit mentioned is the Sdkfz 251/16 D Flammpanzer from Dragon (box no:6247), it is my back-up kit for this campaign in case something happens to my Flammpanzer II. Don't go hammering him in the head for a misspelling now

Well Don, that shelf-queen looks too much built (with too much dust on, heh). If you started construction before August 1 (which I presume you did), then I am sorry to say that I can't accept you into the campaign in line with the rules.

Why not get a new kit and join the fray?

It was certainly not in my intrest to hammering him in the head....just wanted him to finish the cheiftain so we could get some reports + pics on that lovely Flammpanzer kit.
I even put a smiley at the end an´ all .

Anyhow... my green green primer just ran out as i was spraying the churchill. Looks like a perfect excuse to go down to the hobby store (*and to pick up at least 2 kits while im at it)

Till next time

That picture was taken AFTER I washed the dust off. I started the model back in 2001, then got a new job, moved, etc, etc... It just got put on the shelf and forgot while I did other projects. I saw your Campaign and thought about it. I Just checked my model closet and dug out my Italeri US Marines M4 sherman. Turns out that it comes with both a M4A3 and M4A2 engine deck. Since the only M4A3's the Marines had in WW2 where Flame tanks, it seems that I can join after all. Will post Pics as soon as I get them up loaded.

That is what I get for posting at 0130. Yep it was a typo. My mind was wandering I spent three years working with the Botswana Defense Force and I would like to make the SK 105 light tank, which is thier main battle tank. Looks a lot like the AMX 13, never seen a kit for it has anyone hear of such a thing?

Working on the figures (have to get to my trusty hobby shop in the morning, found my flesh paint empty). Hope to have the kit finished by mid week.
