Greetings Everyone,
Now that the campaign is official, we can discuss our builds and share ideas/photos under this thread.
Anyone willing to view the campaign info and rules®s can visit the campaign page here:
Crouching Armor, Puffing Dragon Campaign Page
We will be starting on August, maybe till then we can see who joins with what kit. I personally lost my Flammpanzer II Flammingo in "combat" when the kit box fell from the shelf and several key parts (like some roadwheels) were ultimately lost (all in a week during my absence from home, no one admits guilty as usual). I need to find a new kit to build, I will either go for a Sherman Crocodile or a Sdkfz 251.
By the way, since I have no idea how to do it, I would greatly appreciate anyone who can help me with the campaign medal. Please PM me about this if you can help.
Let's go burning folks!
With my respect to all,
Campaigns

I have no idea about the design of medals, but I do have idea about design -if no one is having the job, I'd like to give it a go
(I'll probably get the 251, too; or some weird little flamethrower tank. (Those things were awful, by the way...)

I got the Dragon Flammpanzer Sdkfz 251 for this campaign. Despite all the 251s in my stash, I had to purchase a new one to build as "first"
I remember Academy making a Sherman Crocodile, was I wrong? I looked for it but couldn't find it here on Turkey or on a couple of websites. Am I wrong?
I am quitting job today and next month I'll be free, so I'll have plenty of time to work for this campaign in August it seems

Sounds great! I am in. I have no idea what I will do yet, but I will go to the local hobby store today and be inspired
Emre, I can help with a campaign ribbon if you need it. I am not the master of these graphic drawing programs, but I have made ribbons for the Vietam campaign and the Tankbusting campaign on Aeroscale. You can see the level of what I can do there...

I am indeed in need of a campaign ribbon and I would appreciate any help possible. Maybe we can discuss further details by PM.

Now I have found my first model to enter into this campaign. I thought this campaign would be a good excuse to build one of the UM models that includes rubber tires and photo etched parts. I have never tried this before on a 1/72 model.
I am not sure if I will enter another model in addition to the OT-34, but that depends on what is on stock at the local hobby store.

Just as inspiration to the people considering to join this campaign here are some pictures. The pictures span from WWII to the Vietnam war. There are lots of possibilities.

Here are some model kits of flame thrower tanks. However, many more kits are available. These are only for inspiration.

Speaking of kits, a miracle has happened yesterday. While I was looking for some spare parts, I found all of the missing pieces of my Panzer II Flammingo that was supposedly trashed. Turns out my brother acted thoughtfully (one of the few times in his life) and gathered all loose pieces and stashed them in my spares box. But of course, he forgot to tell me afterwards.
Now I have two kits for this campaign

BTW I may do a pz1 flammpanzer from N. africa

Hey, folks, while I don't want to discourage anyone from tackling any particular model, I noticed the Zvezda OT-26 box picture above. I built the Zvezda/Italeri T-26 and just want to warn anyone doing it to be careful with the tracks. They're tricky OOB (way too tight), and if an aftermarket set is available, go that way. This is the voice of hard experience... wife was ready to throw me out after I broke the danged thing the third time! Just want to save people the hassle that I had.
Love the ribbon idea! Looking forwards to building for this campaign!

Thanks for the heads up on the OT-26. Always good to have some insights on possible model kits.
I belive that the ribbon changed from a Dragon spewing fire to a tank on a flaming background. The dragon simply did not look right on a small surface as a ribbon is. Anyway, the new one looks pretty cool and is definently original.

I thank Jesper for our cool ribbon. I am waging a personal battle to upload the ribbon on the campaign page, but currently the mighty "Red X" is winning...
Hopefully, if it uploads here, the ribbon will look like this:
So far we have 7 campaigners. What about kits? Who is planning to build what?

I'd like to do something from Canada, myself, but it depends on what's available from my LHS and what they can order in time. It could be a Flammpanzerwagen... I do believe I saw one on the shelf there.
Whatever I build, I'll enjoy doing it!

Great help with the ribbon, Mark.
As previously stated I am entering the OT-34. I am considering making it in an early war winter camouflage. The green-white camouflage where the green areas are crisscrossed with a white "net".
I am not entirely sure that it would be correct as my vehicle is a mid-war version, but I will apply a little artistic license. After all it is not unlikely that a tank crew or tank commander survived the first years of the war and used the early war camouflage on a new vehicle later.

I just now noticed this campaign and really like the idea.
I've made an M3A1 Satan before, but have since learned I made a few mistakes and the model wasn't quite right.
I need a break between drying times on my diorama I've been working on for a year and this looks like just the ticket.
Instead of another Satan I think I'll go for an Australian Matilda Frog.
Just ordered some decals and parts from Firestorm so I should have all I need.
Just have to wait until 1 Aug to start.
Anyone needing info on either of these tanks let me know, I can help a little.

Hi Bob
Glad to hear that you are joining. I do not know your build. I assume it is a flame thrower version of the Matilda? A picture could be nice if it is not too much trouble.
Just out of curiousity - what is your diorama about?
Welcome onboard

Oh Yeeessss! She spits alright,
The main problem will be the markings, very hard to come by so I have to make a couple.
The Diorama is a very long story but to keep it short it concerns a tank battle in Cecina Italy between a Sherman and a Tiger. Bob Holt has been very gracious to give me a lot of information and background to help make this diorama and he has a personal interest so I am attempting to get everything as perfect as I can.
Check out the site and Info here
752nd Tank
I have some pictures of in progress in my

The Matilda should be a fun build,
Thanks for asking,
Bob

Great to hear that. It will be interesting to see both your Matilda and the diorama progress. Especially considering the high level of your diorama so far.
Thanks for the info

Gentlemen, it is with great regret that I have discovered that I have to opt out of this campaign due to a change in my financial situation.
I'd love to keep on with this one, but it's either this campaign (and build a single model) or carry on with the "Father and Son" (and build the two that are already special ordered and paid for.) But rest assured that I will keep my eyes on this with great interest! I'd LOVE to see how everybody's builds turn out!
