Cyber-Hobby have just announced their latest variant on their Opel Blitz in 1/35th Scale.
The New (slightly more dangerous) outing for the basic Blitz is:

6680 - German 3t 4x2 Cargo Truck with 2cm FlaK 38

Another smart (no pun intended) utilization of two existing moulds - the truck and the Flak 38.

OK. Another CH bun-bun out of its hat. This one has got to be about the most obvious jump available to CH with a minimum of new tooling and investment concerning their Opel Blitz.... So, I am no way surprised to see this. But it DOES look pretty cool. I think perhaps a half a zillion or so "duck-hunter", Flak-38 and Axis fans have either dreamed of doing, planned up, or even done this simple-but-common conversion over the past several decades. Some have probably wallowed in the Italeri kit. Now it's all in a modern kit. Can't fault that! Alas, IMHO, CH took the lowest route possible - yes, they did include a gun-sled (Yippee!) and some small storage box, but it looks like they did NOT include all of that Dragon Flak-38 kit - the trailer, PE options for gun-shields, etc. These are all on-hand, along with all the little accessories that should go into that truck - ammo cans, small equipment boxes, spare barrels, range-finder, maybe some crew small-arms and personal gear, etc. I would think these things could easily be included for a richer and more-flexible kit - but it does not appear to be the case. More of CH leaving out the goddies. Blah. But the REAL thing CH is missing out on, IMO, is that many of these flak-trucks used the Allrad (Blitz "A" 4x4) version - and were CH to offer that version, it would be, I am sure, snapped up by many! Still, I am sure that the ensemble is likely to be pretty pleasing. I'll probably buy one, as I am a flak-truck fan, the CH Blitz is about the best Opel available, and Dragon's Flak 38 is pretty nice indeed, and having both in one box MAY save some time and money. It will save space in the stash - one box instead of 2! Bob

Well Bob, you probably know as well as anyone that the 4x4 will be coming as well as the Maultier, Ambulance, Workshop and plethora of others based on this truck. You just have to wait. Roy

Roy[/quote] Yeah. You are surely right. All of those things will, in their good time, come out. Patience, as some say, is a virtue. And I'm as virtuous as many amongst us. It's that darnd waiting part that gets to me! The more so as I'm already getting OLD, so waiting isn't half as dee-lish as it once was! If I have to wait, say, another 20 years for a nice modern Maultier or even a modern Allrad Blitz kit, like I did for this thing, to appear... I'll likely have to be wheeled up to my bench - if I can even see it! Bob

So maybe we will get three more in the next year. Roy
