When DML started producing their 3 in 1 kits, the modelling let out a collective gasp of surprise.... However, thinking about it logically, it made sense to do a kit with a choice of three variants in he 251 seres of vehicles. What surprised many, was when they started applying the same 'doctrine' to tanks.... This is the latest manifestation of this interesting policy....
DRA 6222 - 1/35 Kleiner Panzerbefehlwagen I (Sd.Kfz. 265) - 3 in 1 which is due for release in June 2005 Will build one of three variants of this attractive (if diminutive) tank. The Variants are:
- Sd.Kfz. 265 Kleiner Panzerbefehlwagen I, with frame antenna
- Sd.Kfz. 265 Kleiner Panzerbefehlwagen I, with additional armor
- Sd.Kfz. 265 Kleiner Panzerbefehlwagen I, Tropical type
The 'devil is in the detail' as they say, and these are the published details at the moment:
NEW Tooling:
- newly tooled cupola
- new additional armor plates
- completely new frame antenna
- new stowage box
- new commander’s hatch with upgraded interior details
Additional Features:
- clear part for vision block
- commander's hatch can be assembled in the open/closed position
- modified idler wheel with accurate details
- individual tracks
- highly detailed jerry cans utilizing both plastic injection and photo-etched parts
It is interesting to note that the idler wheel has received some attention, this was one of the 'weak points' of the previous kit (s)...
